after attempting to psych himself up for what had felt like hours, jisung took a deep breath and pushed open the heavy doors to the school's gym.

it was a place he hated walking through, purely due to the fact that he knew he didn't belong, and the people who would usually frequent this certain part wouldn't hesitate to tell someone like jisung just that.

jisung was on constant surveillance as he passed the threshold of the football team's sector, hoping that the person he had gone to all this trouble for would be alone and soon within his line of sight.

unfortunately, jisung wasn't so lucky.

as he heard footsteps, jisung quickly turned his body back round to where he'd just walked through and almost froze at the player now stood in front of him.

yongjoon. someone who both intimidated jisung and had certainly had a few choice words when he thought he couldn't be heard by the younger.

then again, jisung was never sure if yongjoon had purposefully spoken in such a way to assure jisung had heard him.

as the muscular, and incredibly tall, football player looked down at jisung, his eyes stopped at his hands. more specially, what jisung had in them.

"what you got there, hannie?"

jisung cringed at the nickname and gulped as he looked down at the assortment of flowers he had wrapped up in his hands.

"n-nothing."

"nothing?" yongjoon repeated with a smile that conveyed just how much he was enjoying this current moment. "i don't think flowers are nothing. who are they for, huh?"

the faux sweetness dripping from his words made jisung feel even worse as the flowers slightly rustled in his hold now he was unintentionally jostling them from his small tremor.

"e-erm," jisung gulped as he wondered which was worse, telling the truth or lying.

"for m-minho," jisung tried and failed to meet yongjoon's persistent stare. "i-i wanted to wish him good luck in his-i-i mean your-football game today."

yongjoon cooed, taking a step forward and pouting in such a derisively way it had jisung's stomach turning in shame.

"well isn't that just so sweet," yongjoon then sighed as if having to deliver extremely bad news. "but also just so so unfortunate."

"u-unfortunate?" jisung repeated in a small voice as he nervously looked up at the football player. "w-why?"

"minho isn't gay, hannie." the taller almost spat before scoffing. "and in your made up reality where he is, i highly doubt he'd ever even look at someone like you never mind associate with you."

jisung felt his eyes stinging as yongjoon continued.

"what's more pathetic is you buying flowers for him. it's such a bitch move- but then again," yongjoon had corrected himself to laugh. "i'm sure you're the expert in feminine stuff like that aren't you, hannie?"

jisung willed his bottom lip not to tremble as he knew he was unable to do anything but listen.

"i'm sure if i had been minho, i'd have been so fucking embarrassed that you've done this." he then shook his head as he ducked and tilted his head to try and be in jisung's eyeline. "then again, he shouldn't be anywhere near as embarrassed as you should be."
