the family were well packed, with jisung making sure to check everything was sorted at least fifteen times, and were now well on their journey to jisung's childhood home.
not only was minho driving, but he was also the only one awake.
he often glanced in the child view mirror, smiling every time he watched hyunsoo fidget in his sleep.
then, he'd look over to his husband and smile even wider at just how well the younger was currently being a passenger princess.
since they'd been together, minho had always found jisung's pouty lips when sleeping one of his most endearing habits.
in fact, minho had to resist pulling over just to smother his husband with the most necessary affection.
soon enough, minho was pulling into the familiar neighbourhood and drove up the same old hill he'd been driving up for years, though the amount had slowly lessened since the past.
it was a sweet feeling as minho could still remember how nervous he used to get when driving in his teenage years to pick up jisung for his dates.
he'd used to practice what he was going to say depending on which parent would open the door.
or, if it was jisung himself, he'd be psyching himself up to actually knock on the door instead of running away and hiding.
the first time he'd gone to jisung's house, minho was just 12 years old and was immediately besotted with the warm and welcoming atmosphere it radiated.
however, when he realised his feelings were more than platonic at 15, minho somehow began to love the house even more.
after all, his favourite person for many reasons lived there.
as he pulled up outside the last house on the street, minho sighed in content as he looked at the porch to see jisung's parents already stood waiting.
quietly, minho got out and walked over to his in laws on the porch, immediately being pulled into a hug by jisung's mother.
"ah, minho darling." yewon greeted, pulling back from the hug as she gently cupped his cheeks. "it's so lovely to see you!"
"and i can only guess why it's just you on the path." joobin, jisung's father, scoffed as he had noticed no one else was getting out of the car.
"yes, abeoji." minho bowed as he then hugged jisung's father. "everyone but me is asleep, i'm afraid."
"no bother." yewon waved her hand as she began following minho to the car. "joo, love, you know the drill."
joobin walked round to hyunsoo's side while yewon stayed with yunha. the couple carefully lifted out their grandchildren and carried them into the house and to their allocated guest room to let them continue their well needed sleep.
watching them soon disappear from the doorway, minho let out a light sigh as he walked to the passenger door and carefully opened it so he didn't disturb his husband.
"my big sleepy baby." he mumbled to himself before lifting jisung out of the car with ease and carrying him, still asleep, into the house.
minho skilfully took off his shoes before walking over to the couch and lying down with jisung cuddled up into his shoulder.
joobin and yewon walked down the stairs and couldn't help but smile at the sight.
"i've lost track of how many times we've seen you have to carry jisung inside while he's asleep." joobin chuckled as yewon rested her head on his shoulder, fawning over the pair.
