*** TWO WEEKS LATER ***

Rain had been invited to a fraternity mixer for code partners.

This is a gathering for the incoming freshman who had inherited the same student code from recent Architecture faculty graduates. It was a select group so also present were seniors and alumni who were members of the fraternity.

Rain was sitting with 2 upperclassmen and a freshman, none who he knew well.

The seniors were pressuring him to loosen up and drink, but since he had driven and the weather was bad outside, he politely declined.

The place was buzzing with gossip and conversation. The name that he heard spoken over and over again with reverence was "Phayu".

Everyone was raving about this "legendary" alumni who was "handsome", a "brilliant" architect, so "helpful" to all the current students, and a "messiah" at problem-solving.

The list just went on and on and on...insert eye-roll!. They must all be drunk, Rain thought derisively to himself. No one human could be so perfect with all these amazing qualities.

The thing that was mentioned most often with blissful sighs by women -and even some men- was how stunningly handsome Phayu was.

Rain chuckled to himself and thought that if these guys saw his good samaritan, they wouldn't think so highly of Phayu, because no one could be as beautiful as his guardian angel.

"Um, Phi, who is P'Phayu?" Rain finally asked the seniors at his table when there was a break in the conversation.

"Oh, yea....You probably wouldn't have had the chance to meet him since he graduated before you started. He is the most sought-after graduate that we've had at this university ever. He won awards for his design skills and got many job offers from alumni and renowned, large architecture firms but he turned them all down to work at a smaller firm," said one of the seniors.

"He always goes out of his way to help his juniors and of course, he is drop-dead gorgeous, so everyone admires him!"

The storm raged outside, and a big clap of thunder boomed bringing all the conversation to a halt.

"I bet that's the signal that "The Storm" is on his way," one of the seniors said with a knowing laugh.

Everyone else joined in on the laughter. Rain is now certain they are all either drunk or a little batty based on the way they are exaggerating about Phayu.

At that exact moment, the front door to the restaurant flies open with a bang. The restaurant breaks out in cheers and hoots of welcome as a large man enters the room.

"Let's hear it for P'Phayu. You finally decided to show up!!" A couple of the seniors teased him for his late arrival.

Rain turns around to see what the fuss is about.

"Am I too late?" The man asks cockily, as only a person that's certain they would be welcomed with open arms - no matter what time they showed up - would say.

Rain's face blooms with happiness. It's his guardian angel.

He had never expected to see him again.

"Oy! It's you, P'Phayu!" Rain says to him realizing that his guardian angel and the mysterious P'Phayu are the same.

"Yes," Phayu says quizzically. "And who are you Nong?" he asks, clearly not recognizing Rain from the other night.

The night slowly progressed for Rain.

Phayu sat and mingled with seniors and alumni at another table.

Rain observed him covertly.

The truth was, he couldn't drag his eyes away even if he wanted.
