8: BEAT MY HEART

Phayu drives in complete silence for 20 mins.

The roads this time of night are deserted and shadowy so there's nothing to distract Rain as he stares moodily out of the window.

They arrive at a narrow residential lane and pull into a driveway that has a large black gate. They go through the gate and park.

Phayu hops out of the car and comes over to the passenger side. Rain is huddled miserably in the seat and hasn't made a move to exit. Phayu opens the door and scoops him out.

Rain tries to resist knowing already that it's a lost cause.

Phayu throws him over his shoulder and carries him fireman-style into the imposing large glass building. As he punches the code and enters, Rain realizes that this is actually a home. He is unable to take in his surroundings, so his nervousness multiplies exponentially.

Phayu doesn't even pause to turn any lights on as he stalks up the stairs with Rain still over his shoulder. He opens a door on the second floor and enters a room. He turns on the light and makes his way over to a sofa and plops down with Rain now draped over his lap on his stomach.

Rain is truly frightened now and starts wiggling around trying to get loose. He realizes that he has no idea what Phayu is capable of.

They are alone in this isolated home, there doesn't seem to be anyone else to hear his cries for help. Phayu is still fuming mad.

SLAP!

What the fuck!! Did he just slap my ass?? Rain is shocked into stillness.

SLAP!

Again??

"Phi, how dare you treat me like this? Rain screeches in disbelief.

"Even my parents don't do this to me!" He dares to scold.

SLAP!

"Ouch!" Rain complains loudly.

"Keep screaming," Phayu says angrily.

SLAP!

And he finally pushes Rain off his lap onto the floor.

Rain scrambles up. His ass is stinging, but he realizes that Phayu hasn't actually hurt him despite his frothing anger.

Still, Rain feels humiliated, so he yells back accusingly, "Phi, how could you do this to me?"

Phayu's face is still like a thundercloud as he stands up and stalks over to Rain, eyeing him darkly.

"Can you say something, Phi?" Rain says nervously, rubbing his ass to ease the sting.

"Do you realize what you did?" Rain searches his brain trying to divine an answer that would calm Phayu.

"Do you know what would have happened if I wasn't there??"

"I'm sorry," Rain says with trepidation saturating his voice, trying to put out the angry fire inside Phayu.

"I'm asking if you know! I don't want an apology."

Rain is confused.

Phayu takes a deep breath and folds his arms over his chest. He's going to have to make this crystal clear to Rain.

"Do you want to lose your future? If you tried using your brain a bit, no matter how stupid you are, you would have realized how powerful the organizers of an illegal street racing event set up in the middle of the city, really are. They won't put up with anyone who creates problems. For them, it isn't that difficult to make one stupid boy disappear!"
