26: DragCity THE ASSIST

A WEEK AGO

Saifah was afraid...deeply afraid.....as he walked into his own house. He didn't know what he would find.

But goddammit, it was his house too! It was a shared inheritance their parents had given to them both!
So, he had every right to walk into it without feeling like a third wheel, without seeing two people, giggling, laughing, making out, and touching all the time.

And just last Sunday....when his brother and his "wifey"....WIFEY! ....(wtf!...his brother had lost his mind!)...were snuggled on the couch wrapped in a blanket in the middle of the day while a movie was running unwatched in the background. His beast of an older brother was straddled on his tiny boyfriend's lap doing god knows what!!

He's going to be scarred for life....

The two lovebirds had cracked up laughing and disappeared upstairs after he had discreetly turned his eyes away.
He was pretty sure there was a bundle of clothes in their hands that should have been on their bodies.

Some things you just can't unsee....

He knew they were in their honeymoon phase, getting to know each other, completely gaga for the other.
So, he had been kind, spending the last few nights at his girlfriend's place, giving them some privacy.

It was a good thing he and Rain got along so well because the boy was practically living at their house, spending more days here than he did at home for the past couple of weeks.

Now that summer break was in full swing, he was sure that he would more or less move in. His twin couldn't bear to let him out of his sight when he wasn't working.

But even though Saifah took every opportunity to make fun of his twin about all this, he actually couldn't be happier for him.

He knew how lonely Phayu had been these past few years, working his ass off in school and at the garage, never finding quite the right person who truly understood him and with whom he could be himself.

That's one of the reasons Saifah adored Rain. Rain understood his brother and brought out all the fun and goodness in him.

Rain had found the perfect balance of cheerfully submitting to Phayu's domineering tendencies but also never being a pushover. He had a stubborn will that was the perfect match for Phayu.

And even though the boy didn't quite realize it yet, he had his brother wrapped around his finger. The guy who had been more of a snarling tiger all his life had become a cuddly kitten around Rain, his happiness blindingly obvious.

That's why when the three of them sat down for dinner that night, Saifah brought up the race.
He knew his brother was very protective of Rain, overly protective if he was being honest.

The DragCity Races and their involvement with Khun Pakin were an important part of their world.
He really did need to open up this part of his life to the person that he so clearly loved.
Rain needed to see Phayu's involvement for himself and become comfortable with it to truly understand all the different sides of his twin .

"Hey, why don't you bring Rain to the next event?"

Phayu immediately pushed back on that idea, "There are too many assholes there."

"Those assholes are just little rich kids trying to show off. But as soon as they cause trouble, they get banned," Saifah countered. "You should know that P'Pakin hates troublemakers the most."

Saifah could see that his words were actually being considered by his hard-headed brother.

"And you are his favorite guy. There won't be any problems if you bring Rain."

And the final hammer to the nail..."Don't you want Rain to see your world?"

Rain could also see that Phayu's resolve was weakening.

"Please P'Phayu? Please bring me. I want to see it, pleaasssse?" He asked with his sweetest pout and puppy eyes.

"Fine, but no more sneaking in! And if anyone asks, just say that you are P'Phayu's wifey," his brother said half-jokingly knowing the race was filled with people who would find Rain quite appetizing and not think twice about coming on to him.

Saifah choked on his water and shook his head at the lost cause that was his twin brother.
