37: DADDY'S HOME

Summer break is in full swing.

Rain was splitting his time between his parent's house, Phayu's home, and the garage.

It took a couple of weeks for Phayu to recover fully from the Stop episode. He walked away with numerous cuts and bruises, one broken rib, a broken pinky, and some minor fractures in his hand.

Rain was there every step of the way to nurse him...ummm, quite literally.

Dressing up as doctor and nurse may not have been the best idea considering Phayu's beat-up body, but they soldiered through, Rain thought with a smirk.

The injuries couldn't prevent Phayu from getting back to work both at the firm and the garage after a couple of days' rest.

There were only four weeks left of Rain's school break and he had to be available a week before classes started to welcome the new Freshman students, which didn't leave much more 'just us' time together.

Sky had gotten him and all their friends more involved in the club that was planning the Architecture faculty's Freshman orientation events so there was a lot of work to be done behind the scenes.

They traded many fun video calls trying to brainstorm ideas to make it fresh and interesting for the new class of students since their orientation experience was still fresh in their minds.

Sky had taken over from Som as President, so he was taking his leadership and club duties very seriously....a little too seriously if you asked Rain.

But before all that Phayu had promised to take him on a trip before summer ended so he was racing to finish his client deadlines to take time off with Rain in a couple of weeks.

They had been excitedly looking at different places mountains, beaches, close, far....it was exciting planning their little get-away. Rain couldn't wait to take their first trip together, just the two of them, being relaxed and escaping from the day to day responsibilities.

This week, he was back spending all his days and nights here since Saifah was away with his girlfriend and they had the whole house to themselves.

Rain was happy being here even when Phayu was at work - like today - content to wait for him, looking forward to when he got home for the night.

Rain could talk to Phayu about anything for hours - video games, architecture, movies, food. They had so much in common and even for their hobbies that were different - like bikes, books, or shows - they loved hearing about it, happy to feel the other's excitement and learn something new.

Rain hears the motorcycle pull in and his whole body lights up with excitement to see Phayu again. He runs down the stairs as Phayu makes his way to the front door.

As he enters, Rain launches himself joyously into Phayu's arms, giggling out loud as he hugs him and rains kisses all over his face.
