— 12k words.A professor once said: "At one time we could not imagine light to act as both wave and matter, nor that matter and energy were the same things. Now we see that time is not a continuum but another energy transformation, and it is part of what brings the sense of distance and space in our reality. For now, perhaps think of time as a ball of light, a buzz of energy that we call 'the present.' As such, there really is no past or future, only 'right now.' Yet what we do with this gift of 'the now' determines the health of our planet in all the moments to come. So, there is a separation to make here. We have what time really is, a ball of energy, and our human concept of it being a continuum from past to future. What I propose is that for our purposes as scientists rather than those speaking in the everyday sense, we use energy-time and imagined-timeline. Giving concepts new words is helpful to the human brain when building new ideas. What was once considered one thing, becomes two, and so it goes on. This is learning, this is progress.".
The professor, legend had it, was something of a real 'Dr. Strange,' they say she'd reality hopped a number of times. You see, time is not a continuum but a kind of energy. Each reality has its own 'frequency.' She had found a way to connect to the soul-ether energy field, match the resonant frequency of other realities, and thus travel there.

"I need to tell you something," Y/N blurted.
"Are you okay?" Roger asked at the same time.
They shared a sheepish laugh. Roger moved his hand to his own nape. He felt his face getting hotter and so did his companion.
"I am fine," she answered.
"Go ahead," he said. At the time, again. And they both laughed once more. Roger smiled at her and moved his free hand to her face, his thumb tracing her cheek. "Say it."
Being under his gaze was turning finding words and remembering how to pronounce them into a difficult task. There was something there she couldn't really put her finger on. Pure adoration. He was looking at her as if she was a rare flower and he, an explorer who thought it was extinct. Maybe it wasn't even real. However, now he knows the truth. This scarce find exists, it's real and he can feel it growing inside his chest too.
Y/N is smiling just because she's looking at him. So beautiful. She knows he is making something unfurl inside. But Y/N also knows she has something to say and she needs to do it before she loses her nerve. She swallows hard and lifts her gaze to Roger. "Just a few more seconds", she thought.
"Do you remember what I said when you asked me if I would go back?" Her voice was barely a whisper.
Roger remembered, yes. However, he didn't want to admit it, because the possibility of Y/N changing her mind scared him. He had thought about it when she was out, just as, the moment she entered the apartment, he thought how happy he was to see her. And how he could get used to that scenario. He would gleefully wait all day just to see her coming back home, back to him.
"Could you tell me again? Please."
Y/N took a deep break and slowly lowered her head. He placed his index finger under her chin, searching for her eyes. And at that moment, he captured something in the air. He knitted his brows and tilted his head slightly to the right.
"My answer hasn't changed," she said. Roger wanted to smile, but the filling hadn't gone away. It was still there, pressing his shoulders as if it wanted him to be swallowed by the floor.
