[A/N:] Hi! I hope you like this chapter as much as I did. I'm gonna start updating every sunday and since almost everything thin is already written you don't have to worry about only having an update in three months 😅
Thanks for still being here ❤️. I recommend listening to this song during or after the reading: https://youtu.be/4MCJ3lgFqbg

You told him there was a cafe near your place, to which he answered that he needed real food. You two walked for around ten minutes, you couldn't take your eyes off the box, wondering about what could be inside and why he wanted to talk to you.

He stopped in front of a tiny restaurant, it could easily go unnoticed by anyone who wasn't looking for it or knew its existence. A white fence protected a beautiful and colorful garden, full of different types of flowers and small trees. It looked like a house.

In the outdoors area, each table was encircled by four wood benches and had a sunshade on its center. You had no idea of what it looked like inside but couldn't be much different. Dexter chose the table that was further away from the two families, the only people who were there, and the sidewalk. You didn't question it.

Both orders were taken and it looked like he only could breath and relax when the waitress walked away from the table.

"Thank you for agreeing to meet with me on such short notice." He said, obliviously tumbling his fingers on the box. The sound was making you anxious, you felt your leg begin shaking up and down.

"Don't worry, it's fine," you answered. "I didn't know you knew Gloria."

His expression changed. You'd hit a sore spot. He pursed his lips with a sigh. "Not as well as you, of course... But we had our moments," his lips curled into a smile full of memories, good ones. "She was really special..."

Your smile matched his. "You have no idea..."

He scanned the place and you fought the urge to look over your shoulder to see, or at least try to, what he could possibly be looking for. Or trying to avoid.

"Y/N," he said, putting the box on the table and shoving it towards you. "I know."

You knitted your brows and looked from the box to him, to him from the box and pursed your lips into a thin line before speaking. "What, exactly do you know?"

He took a deep breath. "Everything... Gloria told me... She thought I could help."

Air escaped for your lungs and you leaned over the table, staring at him with wild open eyes. "What exactly do you know?"

He leaned over as well, his arms were crossed and the movement crushed his lungs so his words came out quieter than he meant them to. "I know what happened three, almost four years ago, and I know what's happening now."

Your jaw clenched, you swallowed hard and harshly pushed yourself back to how you were sitting before. "I have no idea of what you're talking about."

"Open the box," he indicated with head, "maybe you'll get your memories back."

You knew better than to answer him, you wanted the job as assistant director on Elton John's movie. You grabbed the box and pulled it closer to you, but before you could open the waitress came with your order.

A glass of lemon tea with honey and fish and chips for you and a steak with mashed potatoes, french beans and green peppercorn sauce and a bottle of sparkling water for him. Both of you thanked her and as soon as she left you took the glass to your lips, buying yourself a minute.
