Y/N throws her cell phone across the room, it hits the wall with a loud sound that immediately makes her regret her decision. She doesn't move to check on it, not yet. Her knees fail her and she all to the ground; it's hard to know if she's shaking from the rain, from guilt slowly eating her guts until there's nothing left, or because she's too tired to have control over her own body.

She reaches for a pillow, buries her face in it and screams. She only lets go of it and throws it back, it falls on the other side and Y/N takes a deep breath. She uses the mattress as support and stands up, accidentally biting her tongue. She feels an unexpected metallic taste fill her mouth and, just for a second, she wonders if she's in hell and is doomed to spend her life in an 'almost' state for eternity.

Y/N squats and analyses the damage, the screen is broken but she can still use it. The woman slides the cell phone into her back pocket, grabs the towels, and tries to make herself ready for Brian's strike. Each step taken is hard, there's something wrong. She feels her heart beating rapidly inside her chest, it feels as if it is trying to open a hole in her skin so it can go away from her.

Brian does not want to be the one to say it. He wants Roger to be happy, Y/N as well. But the consequences of their actions, collectively, just knocked on the door and now Freddie has an awful cough, trouble breathing, and said that everything is burning.

John touched his friend's forehead but it wasn't warm.

Freddie screamed, passed out, and then woke up again, this time saying he was cold. John decided to make some tea.

Roger didn't follow Y/N to the room nor waited for towels, but went straight to the couch. He sat there and put Roger's feet on his lap.

Brian didn't say anything until Y/N appeared at the threshold. She walked up to Roger and gave him a towel; Y/N had one around her shoulders.

"I shouldn't have encouraged this," Brian muttered, shaking his head. A part of him believes he is starting to be affected by the time travel. "We were all too careless."

Roger furrows his brows, "What are you trying to say?" He asks as someone who's looking for a reason to get angry would.

"I don't think any of this is their fault, Brian," says John. The only one who seems calm, he doesn't want to stress Freddie.

Roger bulges his eyes and drifts his gaze to Brian, "You think it's our fault that Freddie is like that?"

He wanted to stand up, but not wanting to bother Freddie speaks louder and he remains seated. Brian ignores him, he doesn't want to argue.

"John, how could it not be?" He softly asks. "They are the major variant."

Y/N scoffs, shaking her head. Brian encouraged her to go after Roger, he had no right to act like that now.

"Hey!" She half screams half whispers. "Don't talk to me as if I'm not here."

Brian opens his mouth but knows the calling out is valid. "My apologies, Y/N."

She sighs but nods and folds her arms. Everyone is on the edge, but Roger has an amused smile attached to his face, almost prideful.

"That's the thing, Brian." John stands up, his eyes darting from Brian to Freddie and Brian again. "They aren't. We are." He says and moves his index finger to include everyone in the room. "We altered the course of the universe when we time traveled. We shouldn't be here."
