"How's it going outside?"
Butch Cassidy asked News Carver with an annoyed look.
"The giant is still there. No sign of movement."
"Tsk tsk!"
Butch kicked the cave wall with all his might. Of course, things weren't going to get better when he did that.
"Calm down, Butch."
Kid Curry reluctantly suggested.
"What?" Butch glared at Kid Curry. "Do you think I look restless?"
"No, I wouldn't say so..."
Another Kid, the Sundance Kid, was laying down next to Kid Curry in trouble. His face was hidden by his hat, so it was unclear whether he was asleep or pretending to be asleep.
"Hey, News. I have a suggestion."
"What is it, Boss?"
"Someone will run through the giant's crotch on a horse, go to the hideout, and bring all followers back here."
"That's a good idea. And who's going?"
"It's you."
"Oh, please!" News shrugged.
"Don't you want your share of dead Texan?"
"It will be the same as Texan."
"No lottery"
Butch did not make the same offer to the two Kid. He wasn't serious, it was just a joke.
The cave was filled with the stench of men's sweat. There were water bags, but they were limited. The giant had neither a water bag nor a water bottle. It would help if it felt thirsty and went somewhere to drink water.
Butch started walking towards the back of the cave.
"Where are you going?" asked the Sundance Kid, who should not be able to see anything with his hat.
"I'll see if there's an exit in the back."
"I don't think so," said Kid Curry.
"Why?"
"It's a hunch. This cave isn't just a cave. It's a cave leading to hell."
"No kidding," Butch snorted. "It's just a cave. Unlike man-made gold mines, natural caverns are created by groundwater or wind erosion. Then there must be an exit."
"Are you going to bet?"
"Okay."
The Sundance Kid sprang to his feet. "I'm going to." He put on his hat and looked back. "It's pitch black, but what about the light?"
"These are the lights"
Butch took out several bills from the bag and set them on fire.
"What a waste!" lamented News.
Butch walked off with Sundance, whistling the melody of "The Little Lost Child."
