Butch Cassidy didn't have to burn the bills anymore. The depths of the cave were bright with golden light.

At first, Butch thought the cave was an abandoned gold mine. But it soon became clear that this was not the case. When he touched it with his hand, he realized that it was insects that were shining gold. No, to be exact, they are the corpses of insects. Millipedes, cockroaches, beetles, snails - all kinds of insects. There was even a dead bat inside.

Butch wondered. "Why is it shining? Is it like amber?"

"Are you asking me questions?" the Sundance Kid asked him.

"No, I'm talking to myself," Butch shrugged with a wry smile. Then he examined the golden glowing spider carcass. "I don't know why, but let's sell it as a goldsmith. If it doesn't sell, I'll give it to the women. They might feel bad."

At that time, the Sundance Kid said softly. "It stinks."

"Really?" Butch sniffed at the corpse of a bug. "No, it doesn't smell"

"From the back."

The Sundance Kid drew his pistol from his gun belt and took a stance.

Butch snorted his nose. "It certainly stinks. It smells like a starving woman." He pulled up the scarf that was hanging around his neck and covered the lower half of his face.

An eerie, hoarse hissing sound was heard from the depths of the cave. The sound was familiar to Butch.

"Snakes. Not one or two. There are many. This is a snake pit. Be careful, Kid."

The Sundance Kid pulled out another pistol. Two-handed pistol. Butch too.

The snakes only made noises in the dark and threatened them.

"What shall we do?" asked The Sundance Kid. "Do you want to wait for the enemy to attack?"

"I don't like that. Let's attack first."

Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid, without yelling or eye-to-eye contact, rushed into the depths of the cave in unison.

What they saw was a woman with live snakes on her head instead of hair. Scaly skin. Eyes wide open like marbles. It was Medusa. She was a monster that turned all creatures that saw her into goldstone. Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid turned into golden stone statues while still holding dual pistols.
