Back Against the Wall - Cage the Elephant
"I'm hanging by a thread and I'm feeling like I'll fall
I'm stuck here in between these shadows of my yesterday
I want to get away, I need to get away"

Rosa held her grip around Kai's waist tightly as they approached the apartment door. She figured this has to be Jo's place since she had been to Alaric's apartment once before to save Kai. How ironic, she thought, yet again she's saving Kai.

Rosa looked up as Kai could barely hold his head up. His eyes were half shut and the sweat on his forehead was gradually increasing. Every instinct inside Rosa wanted to do whatever was necessary to heal Kai but if his sickness was magic related like he said, she was out of luck.

Rosa rapidly began knocking on the apartment door while still trying to support Kai up with the help of her body. The door swing open and there stood Alaric eyeing both Kai and Rosa suspiciously. Rosa grinned wide trying her hardest to resist an eye roll. She was hoping Alaric wouldn't be here but of course, luck is never on her side. "I guess we meet again, Mr. Saltzman."

Alaric rolled his eyes as he began shutting the door. Kai weakly reached out forward to stop Alaric from shutting the door. "Wait. I know you hate me," Kai barely let out as Rosa held him up tighter. "But I really, really need to see my sister."

Alaric pulled the door back open staring at the two. He had no idea why Rosa was with Kai and he was going to make sure to tell Damon about this. "I think she'll pass," Alaric stated dryly.

"What are you doing here?" Jo came into the hallway after hearing Kai's voice. The look of shock crossed her face as she found Rosa standing beside him holding him up.

"I called to tell you that I'm sick and you hung up on me," Kai rasped. The itching in his throat burning more then ever now that he was closer to his sister. A sign clearly telling him, he made the right decision on coming over here. And thanks to Rosa's help, that was able to happen.

Josette looked at Rosa curiously wondering why she was helping out her brother after everything that had happened between her family and Rosa's family because of Kai. "I hung up because I have food poisoning. Did the sound of me vomiting on the other end of the line not clue you in?" Jo said disgustingly.

"Look, there's an issue that I've been worried about since the merge because we didn't really do it right. You know, the whole 'you're not my twin, that's okay, close enough' plan. It worked for the time being, which is you know, cool." Kai paused to look over at Alaric. Kai didn't like the way he kept glaring at Rosa. "Hey, I'm even a little bit nice now. In case you've been wondering," Kai said hoping to divert Alaric's attention from Rosa onto him. "But, I've waiting for the other shoe to drop and well I think it's dropped. Because, I'm- where's the bathroom?" Kai barely let out as blood gushed from his mouth.

Alaric jumped back slightly handing him a bucket quickly. Jo took a step closer eyeing him with worry. Kai leaned down as Rosa slowly closed her eyes trying to resist the temptation she was getting for Kai's blood. This was the second time she's smelled his blood today and just as always, it was so intoxicating to her. She bit her lower lip drawing a little blood of her own trying to mask the smell of Kai's blood.
