   "HEEEEEELP!"
   Oh Paya, I'm too late!!
I go faster. My thighs begin to cramp. No matter, that ooman is nearby, and she's calling for help!
My feet land hard on a branch, scaring a flock of birds. As I take some time to breath, I look to the source of the call.
Thank Paya, she's not dead. She stands there alone, probably lost. I'm sure she can navigate by herself, I just need to see that injury.
I land on the ground. As I get closer to her, she drops to the ground and holds up her unbandaged arm.
   Oh pauk.
My finger stumbles a little but I manage to uncloak. I watch her open her eyes, then she looks up. Her eyes are a dark brown.
   Just like mine.
    Ugh! Focus!
   "B - Bear?"
I have no idea what that means, but I nod to her. Her face lights up. She gets to her feet, wipes the dirt off her, then looks right up at me.
As she stares, I can't help but take in more of her image.
Her creamy skin has a light flush to it. Her blonde hair is long and curled along her shoulders. Her clothing is completely dirty and a bit torn, evidence of great struggle. Her arms and legs are well built, strong.
Get your head out of the gutter! She needs help for Paya's sake!
   "Um, so...why -?"
She makes an odd sound as I take out my medicomp.
"Uh, what the heck is that?"
More of her language I don't quite understand. However, based on the tone, she seems confused. I open the medicomp, take out the syringe then point at her arm. Surely she'll get the idea.
   "Huh? W - what are you -?"
   For Paya's sake.
I growl, pointing to her arm again.
   "Alright, alright."
She must have finally understood since she presents her arm to me. I carefully hold onto her wrist. My other hand slowly removes the white cloth strips she used to patch herself.
   Always intelligent, aren't you?
I'm cautious not to accidentally cause herm with my claws. Her skin looks soft enough to poke through with just a little bit of pressure. My chest aches.
   Focus!
Before I get to the final bandages, I remember the last time this happened. It was way back when I was still a young blood, during my Hish walk. Ha'theh had gotten serpent blood on his leg.
I had immediately started to work on his wound. The sight of it however, made him thrash and hyperventilate. Luckily, Zadea was there to hold him down till he was healed.
Well, this time, Zadea wasn't here. Just me.
I look at her, wondering how to make her not see the injury. She stares back, brown eyes sparkling gold in the sun. I find myself staring for much longer than needed.
I soon snap out of it. I cover the eyes of my helmet. Once she does the same, I remove the bandages.
Pauk, it had been a while since I've seen an acidic wound. A big portion of skin, muscle, tissue and even a bit of bone are burned away. What's left is crispy, blackened and oozing puss. It's a wonder it hadn't snapped off.
Fortunately, she might not be able to feel much pain. I aim the syringe at the yellowish bone, then squeeze the trigger. Blue substance coats the bone, then disintegrated muscle.
Everything begins to heal back smoothly, till the veins and nerves grow back. I look to her for any signs of discomfort.
As I feared, she starts to squirm and groan. Her face grimaces and I feel her try to pull away.
I instinctively hold on tighter, successfully holding her in place. Thank Paya my claws don't scratch her.
I continue covering the damaged muscle and skin till it all grows back. The skin settles, then regains color.
She uncovers her eyes, gawking down at her fully healed limb. I almost laugh.
An ooman amusing you?! You really have sunk low.
   Paya, I should leave.
I sigh, unhand her, then put my medicomp back. I quickly turn away from her and begin to head out. I hear footsteps behind me.
"Wait!" She reaches out, then swiftly recoils.
"Um, t - thanks for helping."
For the love of Paya, why must she be so..so...
I click to her, then cloak myself, wanting to save myself from any more embarrassment.
