we sit in the car for a while, calum listens while i rant about my sister. my sister never leaves the apartment, it's okay though. i have no valuables for her to destroy. well there is zoe, but she's a large dog.
"we should go back to my place." the raven haired boy announces.
"oh sorry, of course." i wave my hand for him to roll out of the parking lot.
my heart has sunk to the bottom. i pick at my nails that lay in my lap."esme," calum takes my hand in his, rubbing soft circles," i want to let you know that you are great, fantastic, and beyond beautiful. what your sister said was out of anger." i flash him a weak smile.
calum takes my bag and change of clothes, refusing to let me carry them. margot immediately from her desk.
"moving in already?" she smirks, i instantly choke on my breath.
"cut it margot." calum grunts
"sorry, it's just surprising to see her back after one night." the front desk girl's words stung harshly.
"margot, cut it." calum spits this at her, but she barely flinches.
"sorry, sorry." a grin still plastered on her thin lips, she's about to shoot out another snobby remark, but calum pulls me to the elevator. i lean against the wall, glancing down to the ground again.
reaching calum's apartment i break. all of the horrible feelings inside me spilling over. calum sets my stuff down in his room, then returns to me. snaking his arms around my torso and cradling me carefully as watery sobs slip from my mouth.
"people are only mean to you, because you're the most stunning girl in this world." he mutters, running his fingers through my hair, to remove it from my face.
"no, i am just so hate-able." i mumble under my breath.
"you are very loveable, i wish you could see that how i do." he presses his lips to my forehead, cradling my head in his hands.
"tell me of your family." i say, wanting a distraction from mine.
"my family? well, my mother is the best cook ever. i swear she really is, and she is the happiest person in this world. her names joy, which suits her very well. my dad is pretty great too, we get along very well. my sister, i feel like you would love her. she's an amazing singer, and we were best buds as kids." the raven haired boy smiles, remembering his family. "but i live here now, so i don't see them as much."
"then plan to visit them." i say.
"i can't, it's way too expensive." a frown lay on the boys lips.
"what if i helped you pay?" the idea pops in my mind.
"that wouldn't be fair, you don't even have a car." he buts in.
"don't need one, i like car pooling with you much better. it would repay for the gas money." i add in, hoping to change the boy's thoughts.
"only if you come." he crosses his arms over his chest, confident.
"it's a deal with me, it is just going to take me a little longer to get the money then."
"that's fine, i guess i should take the extra shifts at the shop." he says, alarming me. my eyes widen. "in the morning of course! not in the afternoon when we car pool." he assures me, relieving pressure in my stomach.
"deal is a deal, we gotta shake hands on it." i state, putting out my hand. he puts his out to mine, gripping it firmly and shaking it.
"i'm glad we can mange things like this esme."i nod in agreement to his words.
"calum?"
"yes, esme."
"what are we? because i didn't want to spring the boyfriend-girlfriend thing on you, but i didn't want to friend-zone you-" i begin to ramble, talking with my hands nervously.
"well, would you like to be my girlfriend?"
"yes?"i say in a question. "yes." i state more confidently.
{yayy couple I'm headed to camp for two weeks on the 7th of June, but I'll try and update before then:)))}
