calum's snores filled my childhood room. posters of my favorite teenage bands hung on the wall still, as if nothing had changed. the rain outside danced on the roof. my eyes were on calum, my fingers tracing his facial features.

today quinn would walk down the isle and greet derrick to become one family. today i would stand by the alter in a pink dress with other girls i didn't know. the only thing getting me through the ceremony was that i got cake and to see calum all dressed up.

"get up, lovebirds." quinn yells into the room abruptly, making calum jump. she throws in my dress and shoes for the wedding and slams the door shut. calum's arms squeeze me and his lips land on my forehead.

"sorry about her." my voice is groggy from sleep.

"don't mind, i got to wake up to you and jack from all time low." he chuckles and gestures to my jack poster.

i lead calum back downstairs where two plates of eggs wait for us. we devour them in seconds.

"morning." my mother cheers as she hops into the kitchen. her hair was in curlers and her cheeks were a rosy pink.

"good morning mrs. emory!" calum dances around the kitchen with her, already great friends.

"your father printed out this," she hands me a sheet that holds the day' schedule. "if your late, he may hold a grunge." we laugh, glancing over the paper. everything was cut down to the minute for this wedding.

"now go upstairs to get ready, we have pictures before at ten-thirty." he tiny hands shoo us back upstairs to get ready. calum and i race to the bathroom, hoping to get there first. calum wins and cheers with triumph.

"no fair, you have longer legs." i pout, cross my arm while i stand in the frame of the door.

"barely." the aussie stretches out the word as he blocks the door.

"don't use the hot water." i puff out, nearly letting my stern look turn to a giggle.

"why not join me?" he suggests with a devilish smirk. i plop down on the bed, arms still crossed.

"nope."

"oh come on, why not?" he whines like a child wanting candy.

"because."

"it's just a shower."

"it is not!" i burst, chuckling a little. "two people in a relationship naked in a shower together. one thing leads to another..."

"esme, i don't take advantage of people, it's just a shower." he tries to easy me into the idea.

"nope."

"esme, why not?"

"i told you."

"not everything is sexual."

"but you've never seen me with out underwear." i point out, another reason not to join him.

"and you've never seen me with out underwear, glad we can state facts. come on." his hand takes mine and attempts to drag me into the bathroom. i was stubborn though.
