CHAPTER 2

Vince Zachary Lim hasn't been able to come home to the Philippines for almost three years since his first girlfriend, Samantha, left him. He didn't know the reason why she left him despite being faithful to their relationship. So since his first heartbreak, he promised himself that he would never fall in love again because he knew that love doesn't last forever. At first, it's enjoyable, but as time passes and they get bored, they will just leave him hanging. So even though many beautiful women are vying for his attention, he ignores them.

He is the CEO of their company, but his secretary is a male. All of his employees are males as well. He does not hire women, and his reason is that men are more capable than women. He is a very handsome and young CEO, but he can't even smile. At the age of 23, he was already managing their company, which was turned over to him by his father when he was only 19. Sometimes, people mistake him for being gay because they don't see him with a girlfriend or dating anyone, but his employees remain silent because they are afraid of their boss's mysterious ways. His father has forgiven him, and he has slowly lifted their business from its previous downfall that he worked hard to establish.

*kriiingg!*

[Couz!

"It's alright, I'm on my way to Palawan, and I still have to buy some groceries at the Department Store," he replied, using his iPhone. He was exhausted from his trip because his flight took almost 20 hours. He also had to deal with jet lag.

[No! No! No!

Bea chuckled on the other end of the line. He didn't bother arguing and just hung up. He was driving now and was also close to Palawan, where his new resort was located. He shook his head, thinking that what his cousin said was impossible because all women were the same in his eyes - heartbreakers, deceivers, and gold diggers.

When Vince arrived at the resort, it was already late at night. Instead of going straight to his cottage, he walked to the end of the beach where he liked to go. No one dared to go there because people preferred to hang out at the bar or stroll around the town. He took off his shoes and placed them on a large rock. He lay down and put his arms behind his head.

He lay down and put his arms behind his head.

This was the place where he used to go with his ex-girlfriend, where they dreamed of starting a family together, but that seemed unlikely now. He closed his eyes and savored the sea breeze, but he was startled when he caught sight of a woman in white approaching him. He was afraid of ghosts, so he panicked and hid behind a rock. However, he was surprised to see that the woman was stunningly beautiful. She was just standing there with a scarf around her neck that was fluttering in the wind.
