That must be all Ronnie, so she had taken the burden upon herself and stayed away from work that she wouldn't be happy about. It was her livelihood and loved her job. Correction her company.

Ellie hoped Ronnie never finds out about being spied upon, she would be livid. Her privacy meant everything to her, and look where that had gotten her, not Ronnie.

Relieved also, Gran was going about life as normal.

She could ask for an update and monitor her movements and look for anything out of place. And would be warned and let Kaden know, so she could ring Gran. All she wanted was for them not to worry.

It was like she was staying on holiday at some sort of fancy resort, yet couldn't go anywhere. Not experience the city, the desert, the people or the culture. It wasn't like she would ever visit such a place again, with a private pool and library, now probably have more restrictions put on her movements.

If she could make him see where she was coming from, maybe she could earn his trust back. He had trusted her, not that she had anywhere to go, apart from this level of the wing. For now, she was staying put under the shadows of the trees, wishing she had brought a book with her.

"Are you going to hide in here forever?" Startled, her head jerked up.

Ellie pointed up. "Staying out of that." He had changed from robes back into his dark pants and white shirt, unless lounging by the pool wearing only loose white pants, shirtless that was the most dangerous for her.

Kaden settled back at her side. She stiffened as he eyed her sideways, hands clasped together between his knees. "Feeling better?" Slowly, she nodded, yet was unable to speak. "How about I give you an update about their movements as they come in?"

She peered across, tucking hair behind her ear. "I was thinking the same, so I can alert you to something that isn't normal, by her activity."

Dark brows netted down, his head tilted towards her more. "You would do that for me?" he asked, watching her closely. A man that didn't take things at face value, she guessed, while she did, and look where that got her.

Ellie was dreading the day he finds out the truth. Hopefully never.

"Yes, mainly because I don't want my Gran upset in any way." She briefly closed her eyes, not sure how Ronnie was explaining her disappearance. "Also, I thought maybe if I contact Gran once a week, she would be happier. I do ring her, even when I go away. She would think it most odd if I didn't."

"So you ring her often?" his brows furrowed deeper.

If he had Ronnie's phone records, he'd know that wasn't true. They spoke to each other on her phone which she had lost as well. One she barely used, mainly to keep up with Ronnie, who visited. About once a fortnight she popped in with something special for Gran, a treat. Also, had food delivered from a catering function that was left over, or a taster plate, before the event that Gran loved.

If Ronnie is seeing to her needs, she will cater for them.

She didn't cook.

Planning and ideas were her specialities.

"Ronnie?" he prompted, drawing her out of her thoughts

"Yes, I do," holding her breath, hoping not to be caught out as a liar, then again, she rang Gran often when at work. If she went away for a night or more, she always rang. That was rare.

Being gone for a month wouldn't happen. Thank goodness her parents lived overseas, and only rang once a week. Or Skye. Not up with the latest apps.

"If I agree, it will have to be from my phone and in front of me."
