Kaden's hand curled around the cup, watching her closely. She snuggled up closer to his side. "We need to make decisions, my love." Her heart melted, sinking against him. My love.

"About what?"

His hand dropped from the chair, caressing her back, warming her all over, relishing his touch. "You and me, I won't leave without you, Elnora."

"I miss my name," she whispered. "I missed you, Kaden, and saying your name. I used to say it all the time, just for the sake of it."

Smiling, he leaned in closer, his eyes twinkling with delight. "Habibti, I love hearing my name on your lips," his sensual lips brushed her temple, melting. "Now tell me why you wanted to know where I was staying?"

She peered up into his eyes, biting her lip. He knew her far too well. "Kaden," she sighed. His name was written on her heart, her soul to be loved and cherished. "Can I stay with you?"

He eased back, eyeing her off. "Why?" he asked, gulping.

"Because I want to be with you. I don't want to be parted from you," her shoulders sagged, releasing a long, drawn-out breath, tucking hair behind her ear. "Then there is Ronnie. We live together. I don't want her spoiling this. If you suddenly just turn up on her doorstep, it will only cause her angst."

"We don't want that, do we? So, you want to move in with me. That's pushing it, my love."

"I can sleep in another bed if you want. I just want to be with you." She brushed her fingers over his leg.

A dark brow arched. "What if there is only one bed?" He dared.

Her fingers dug in deeper. "A year, Kaden, an entire year without you." In truth, it felt like a lifetime she tried to bury deep inside of her.

"You do know, you're killing me, staying together without touching you," he moaned.

"Who said you can't?" she whispered, leaning back against him, fingers curling around his leg.

"You're not helping, my love. I will not disrespect you. Once we are married, it won't be an issue."

Ashamed, she lowered her head, yet her heart flipped-flopped at the word marriage. He wanted to marry her, though hadn't asked. "Sorry, of course."

"Elnora," he groaned. "It is the right thing to do for both of us. No matter how much I want to be with you. I think that was obvious in the desert, don't you?"

"You do?" Shyly she peered up. He did seem to like kissing her as she did him. Far too much.

He tapped her nose. "There is no one else since I met you, my little Vanir. Even before you, it had been a long time since I had been in a serious relationship. This is between us, not what others believe. I will wait for you because you deserve my respect. You are worth waiting for."

"As you deserve mine," she exhaled. "Whatever you desire."

"What I desire is for us to be married here and now. Alas, that isn't possible, so we must be patient."

He kept talking about marriage as if it was a given thing. Not wanting to jinx anything she wasn't saying anything, the thought of being his wife, at his side for the rest of her life, was more than she could hope for.

So nodded, easing back as their order arrived, sharing with Kaden, something she hadn't expected since she had left his country, falling into easy chatter as if it was only yesterday, back into their rhythm. Asking him about his family, especially about his brother and new wife, she would gather, after all this time.

After all, it all had been about the wedding.

A wedding that brought them together.

One that almost destroyed her relationship with her sister.
