Rue

The rest of the day went smooth, I'm home now. Everyone went out to get food. I decided to stay home and rest after my tutoring sessions. Everything went surprisingly well when I told the student we had to schedule their tutoring for later in the day, they were actually elated.

I go into my bag to try and start with a paper due in Barkleys class. My book isn't here. I try to think back to this morning and remember I dropped my book in class. Before my mini melt down.

I got that book from Barnes, I look on their website to see if they had anymore in stock. Shit, they won't be restocked until next week.

I decide to just go to the library to do my homework. I know they have it there.

When I enter the library it's quiet and there's only a few people there. I check in and get to a table.

I was able to sit and do most of my work until I heard slight laughter. From the other side of the library followed by someone at the table saying "shh".

I look over and see Shuri and a girl I know from around campus Aniyah. They looked like they're doing homework as well but they're in a fit of laughter right now. I smile looking at Shuri, I love her high fashion style. I think about what she did for me this morning in class.

It meant a lot to me. She may not ever know it but it was one of the sweetest things anyone has ever done for me.

I look down at my paper and decide to take one more glance at her. This time when I look up she's holding Aniyahs hand and they're whispering to each other. I quickly look away and finish up my work.

Once I'm done I decide to pack up my things and head home. I need food and sleep.

When I get home I am pleased to hear Lottie. "Rueeee, I have you seen my black blouse with the sheer accents?"

I lock our door and place my things down. "No, how was dinner?".

"It was fun, after dinner we all went to get drinks." She says.

"How did you go, you're only twenty." I looked at her confused.

"Joe knew the bartender." She smiles.

"You're girl was there." She jokes.

"She's not my girl." I retort.

"Hmm, she asked about you." She flips her hair.

"Hmm, sure." I sit in the couch. My stomach fluttered and a sense of excitement tugged at me.

"She didn't get drinks with us though, she had to meet up with someone at the library."

I think about how her and Aniyah had been giggling together. "I know, I just left from there."

Her eyes grew wide. "Was she meeting you?".

"No, she was there with Aniyah Steeler. I saw them on my way out."

"Are you okay?" She asks.

"I'm fine, I told you her and I aren't a good idea." I say.

"Okay, but are you okay?"

I think about earlier and how I almost had a anxiety attack in front of the whole class. If it wasn't for Shuri, I don't know what I would've done. "I had a mini anxiety attack earlier but I'm fine, I promise."

"Okay, I'm glad to hear that." She smiles.

"My mom and Dad invited us to Sunday dinner, I told them we'd go." I say.

"That's fine, I missed them anyway." She reply's.

After talking about our day we decided to sit and watch some tv together. An hour or so after getting comfortable I heard a knock at the door. I looked over at Lottie and she shook her head. "I don't feel like moving love." She grinned.
