Shuri

"I'm princess Shuri, daughter of Queen Ramonda. I'm from Wakanda." I say with my true English speaking accent.

"Okay, I know you all joke about you being the princess but it's not funny. Tell me the truth." She sterns.

I pull my lip down revealing my heritage. The room has a chilling silence as I sit across from the headmaster.

"Still don't believe me. Familiar with Wakandas protector The Black Panther. The mantle was previously held by my brother King T'Challa. The title has fallen to me, it lies within this necklace. I can show you if you'd like headmaster."

"No no, I believe you. I'm just curious as to why'd you lie about your identity. We help protect high profile students such as yourself." She softens.

"Wakandas King wouldn't allow me to come over here if anyone knew. He thinks it's dangerous that I'm even here. I was able to take advantage of the fact people haven't seen me since before the blip. That's why I haven't said anything."

"Poor kid, you've had to keep your identity a secret. Have you told anyone?" She inquires.

"No, you are the first person outside of my people that knows. Mrs. Sutton I am begging you not to say anything."

"A promise is a promise. Your secret is safe with me. If you or your identity interferes with my children or students in any way, I will have no choice but to expel you."

"If anything while I'm here your campus is safe." I half smile.

Headmaster Sutton and I talk for a bit before I go back to my dorm room. I told her why I chose to attend an American school and just over all how it's going so far. Our chat was so helpful, talking to her made me realize a lot about my time here. I'm glad I got to tell one person, especially someone so wise with much knowledge.

When I got home I updated Riri on the situation here. After hanging up on our call I felt a little thirsty so I went to grab a water bottle from the kitchen. I turned the light on and General Ayo appeared, sitting on my couch with her girlfriend Aneka who also happens to be a good friend of mine.

"For Basts sake, you could've at least made yourself known." I jumped.

"You missed your weekly check up and the King grew impatient. He sent us here to check on you." The General says.

"I got a call only a few hours ago. I was with someone. You could've at least waited a day."

"Like I said, The King grew impatient." Ayo smiles.

"Okay, I'm fine see. You can go now." I spin holding out my arms.

"We heard your chat with Miss. Williams, we know you've have been made. Pack your things and we shall take you back." The General stood.

"No, you can't tell him about that. Please, I'm not ready to go back just yet." I beg.

"Panther, you know the agreement you two made. We can't lie to the king." Aneka said.

"Okay, I'm not asking you to lie just give me a little time that's all. Give me until the American new year to tell him about this, please General, Aneka." I look at each of them.

"No, go pack your things before I pack them for you." She sterns tapping her spear on the ground.

"Please Ayo, I'm not asking you as the princess or the panther but as a friend. Please, do me this one solid." I say begging once again, this time more sincere.

"Fine but you'll tell him before then or I will. Now, come hug us and show us around your erm, room." Ayo looks around smiling with a hint of disapproval.
