My eyes cracked open and I awoke to a dark room and the sound of a drum in the distance.

"What the fuck" I mumbled trying to sit up.

"Lay down." a deep voice growled.

I jumped at the noise. The room was so dark I hadn't realized someone was there with me.

"Who are you?" I asked clutching my throbbing head.

"Ambrose" the figure sat forward and sent me a smile that made my skin crawl.

I looked closer at him, as much as the faint candlelight would let me.

"You're the bastard that shot the arrow at me." I accused.

He chuckled. The mother fucker had the gall to laugh.

"I didn't hit you did I?" he mused.

"You tried to" I shot back.

"Let's get one thing straight girl" he leaned on very close. He smelt like rain and smoke.

"If I wanted to kill you. I would've killed you." he leaned back satisfied with himself.

I almost giggled at the threat. "Doubt it" I mumbled.

He sent an angry sneer my way and I shut my mouth.

Rolling my eyes I forced my thick legs off the bed.

"What are you doing girl? Don't be dumb." he said.

I ignored him trying my best to push myself up slowly.

"You'll hurt yourself" he grumbled.

"Why do you care?" I snapped. "No one asked you to be here."

I slowly pushed up so that I was standing but not without the help of the bedpost.

"You think I want to be here? Helaina made me come." he mumbled.  "Figured I could get some sleep"

I reached for a cane that was hooked on the door of the hut.

My knees wobbled under me, not quite use to the weight yet.

A strong arm wrapped around my waist as he reached around me to grab the cane before I ate the floor.

His front pressed up against my back and I inhaled sharply.

"What are those drum sounds?" I asked quickly.

"Drums" he answered lazily.

I rolled my eyes and turned around.

"Where are they?" I asked.

I was desperate to leave this hut. It felt too tight with his gigantic ass taking up half the room.

I took one last look at him, lounging on the chair. His long black hair fell around his face, he looked exhausted.

I turned and hobbled over to the door with my cane like an old lady.

I didn't know what to say so I didn't say anything as I left.

The cool night breeze hit my face the second I stepped out.

A wave of consciousness hit me as I faced the beautiful sunset streaming through the trees.

A soft beat was playing out near the shore. I followed the sound through the trees.

I was met with the smell of smoke as I stumbled upon a huge bonfire.

Tons of people were streaming around it, roasting various foods, talking, laughing.
