The pain of my past was brought back to the present, splayed right before my eyes in the form of death and destruction.

Though our troops fought hard, we barely kept Hyrath away from the mainland.

I fought on the outskirts of the island with other hoomalu, working our way inwards while others fought their way towards us, effectively isolating the Hyrath soldiers.

A group of Hyrath soldiers surrounded my father and Keir the second he kicked dirt over my crown.

The fucker got away scot-free. I bet he was escorted back to the ship in wait.

As for me, I lost all feeling at once. My vision blurred and my movements became fluid.

I killed anyone who stepped in my path. I didn't stop to breathe until I made it close to the mainland.

Now I stood atop the rolling hills fighting any Hyrath soldier that donned my vision.

Though I fought like a well-oiled machine, my heart hurt at all the familiar faces I saw before me. I used to train with these men, they helped me develop the skills I used against them today.

Most of them would smirk at my appearance, even laugh in my face as if I was an easy victory.

They didn't look at me the same as I murdered them.

There was no use in reasoning.

I know I could kill them. After working with my father for so long, their pride and ego had taken over any common sense left.

This left me at an advantage.

No one wanted to kill me.

I was to be brought to my father alive so that he could kill me.

Dumb move.

Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted Kallen fighting off three Hyrath soldiers at the same time.

I watched as the giant hoomalu man struggled to keep the Hyrath soldiers from stabbing at him.

My feet moved over to his aid automatically.

I had almost made it to Kallen before a figure came into sight.

One of the strongest assets in my father's army sprinted with full force toward me. He must have been watching me fight judging by the sheer force he lunged at me with.

His fist almost skimmed me, just inches away from impact.

I quickly dodged his attack and grabbed the arm that reached for me.

With all the strength I could muster, I pulled down and forced my knee right into his forearm.

A large crack greeted my ears.

He screamed out in pain.

His bloodshot eyes focused on mine and I smirked.

He bent over in agony and I readied my stance to kick him down to the ground.

His arm shot out and caught my foot.

His action shocked me so much that I took too long to react.

He pulled me forward harshly and his fist hit my stomach, effectively winding me.

I fell to the ground gasping for air. He took that time to kick me in the ribs.

I could feel something crack inside of me.

My arms reached out shakily trying to crawl away.

He limped over to me slowly, clearly in pain.
