Before I truly lost myself, Keir ripped me from my sorrow.
He dragged me by my hair away from my lover's corpse.
"Pathetic you both are." He snarled at me, as he dragged me closer towards the church.
I didn't flail or flinch in his unforgiving grip.
My body lay limp as I was dragged across the battlefield.
I felt ready to meet my end.
Keir dragged me across the mainland until he ended up at the church.
"No-" I mumbled in a dreary state, remembering that Lilabeth was in there.
My heart was being broken off piece by piece, I think I'd go crazy if she was taken away from me too.
As soon as Keir dropped me, I launched my battered body up into a fighting position.
He turned around to face my shaking body and just laughed.
"God Calenthe it's over. We've won." he smirked.
I forced one foot in front of the other, wobbling up to him slowly.
He leaned on a column and just watched me make my way over to him, gripping my stab wound and limping furiously.
My hand connected with his face sharply.
"Why'd you have to go and do this Keir?" I said through cold tears.
I showed him all the pain and grievance he caused me. My eyes told him everything.
Somewhere inside that dark soul, I knew there was a compassionate human. I've seen and felt his good side. Maybe it was gone but I'd take any chance at finding it anyway.
He sneered at me with dark rageful eyes.
"Put your grimy hands on me again and I'll cut you slut. You're not worth a life so don't think I'll spare it." he spat.
He was really truly gone.
My hands snaked back around my back, reaching for my dagger as he approached me like a snake in tall grass.
A dirty smirk crept upon his face as his eyes dragged down my weak body.
"Mmm you are a slut aren't you? Maybe I'll keep you around a bit longer ya?"
My hand fumbled around my back until I finally caught hold of the dagger. He was right in front of me now.
Before I could even unsheath it he had his dirt-crusted fist knocked my jaw back.
My form crashed up against a neighbouring column causing me to lose my grip on the dagger. It dropped into the mud.
"Nice try princess" he laughed.
I slumped in his grip and closed my eyes.
There was no way I would watch anything else he was going to do to me.
I thought of Ambrose and all the love he gave me. All the warm moments we share and the way he made me feel.
He made me feel safe, a kind of safety I hadn't felt for years now. He was my match, my equal, the moon to my stars.
I loved him with all my heart.
If this is how I would join him, it would be ok. As long as I see him again, I didn't care how it ended.
A slimy mass was pushing against my jaw.
He was kissing me.
I tried to squirm in his grip but he had all his weight against me.
