Carsan and the hoomalu men helped me come up with the most efficient defence strategy.
We moved all the children to the main islands of Melora and kept everyone else highly trained in defence.
We alerted Melora's generals of the possible threat and they agreed to keep our people under protection.
The days were going by so fast.
I could taste the tension in the air.
Everything I'd wanted to run away from had just followed me back here.
After a long day of working and training with Carsan making weapons and ammunition, I slumped back to my cottage.
I couldn't even feel excited to see Ambrose.
My body ached so badly after all the sparring I did today.
The rain was still heavy on the island making it a muddy landfill. I knew that I was crusted in dirt from head to toe.
Still, I pushed one foot in front of the other until I made it into the bathroom of my cottage.
I struggled to lift my hands above my head as I tried to peel off my clothes.
The clothes stuck to me due to all the sweat and rain that assaulted me for the past few days.
I couldn't even remember the last time I showered.
Catching a glimpse in the bathroom mirror, I cringed at the hollow in my cheeks and the mud caked on my skin.
The water was warm on my skin as I slipped into the tub.
A small strangled moan left my lips.
I let my eyes flutter closed, promising myself that I'd just lay here for a couple of minutes.
It wasn't a couple of minutes.
My body completely relaxed in the tub and I lost all track of time.
It was a matter of seconds before I was almost unconscious.
My whole head was submerged under the water, only my mouth broke the surface so that I could breathe warm calming breaths.
My peace was broken when I felt a pair of hands pull up my limp body by the arms.
"What are you doing Calenthe" a tired amused voice asked.
He moved the wet hair from my eyes and grazed his rough hand across my face.
"I'm sorry, I was just so tired." I admitted hazily.
He chuckled and pulled me up so that I stood nude in front of him.
He helped my frail but thick figure out of the big clay tub.
His eyes roamed my wet figure.
"I told you to get more sleep Calenthe" he grinned grabbing a towel to dry me off.
I hummed at the warmth of the freshly washed towel against my chilled skin.
"Sleep is for the weak." I mumbled.
Ambrose left the room and came back with a t-shirt in hand.
"Sleep is necessary, only too little or too much becomes unhealthy." he explained.
I rolled my eyes. "I hate it when you're right."
He gave me a delicious smile and I threw the T-shirt over my body.
I followed Ambrose to the bed.
He sat me down in front of him and tugged my long wet hair out of the towel.
