The scar on my face was nothing but a bright gash on my cheek now.

Thankfully, after about a week of living here, none of the other people seemed to stare anymore. Although I did still get curious glances from those who haven't seen me yet.

Instead of going back out to the shore where the bonfire was, Keir lead me past the cottage and into the mainland of what I was now realizing was a huge island.

A small trail lead me up to an open expanse of rolling hills and grasslands.

Small little daisies and tulips seemed to be planted everywhere.

It was paradise.

About a dozen workshops were littered around the streets of-

I didny know where we were.

I didn't feel like asking.

"Come Calle I'll get you a drink." he urged pulling me along.

I winced at the pain in my knees and thighs that still lingered.

Keir brought me to a rather large booth that smelt like fresh berries.

"Calenthe" Helaina smiled. "I am so glad to finally be seeing you on your feet. How do you feel honey?" she asked, her language slightly accented.

I smiled at her kindness widely. "In all honesty I am still quite sore but I think it's best I stretch my legs instead of staying in all day." I answered.

Her smile only grew brighter "And I am glad to see the clothes I've provided fit nicely" she commented.

I could feel Keir grow stiff at my side.

"They are perfect thank you for all that you've done Helaina" I flushed.

"My darling there is no need to thank me. You poor thing being stuck out at sea like that, it must have been terrifying for such a small girl like yourself." she sympathized.

I laughed internally at the comment.

Though I was lacking in height, I did make up for it in weight. There was no question that I wasn't the most dainty lady out there. But to be called small was laughable.

Not that I dislike my body. But for the past year, I hadn't been taking care of myself as I use to. I became lackadaisical.

"Thank you for your compassion," I said a little bit quieter.

I think she understood that I didn't want to talk about it, so she turned around and reached for something behind the counter.

"Here honey try this" she handed me a small wooden cup with a thick purple liquid inside.

"It is a special fresh berry beverage." she informed me.

I took a small sip of the drink and a smile formed on my lips.

It was sweet and tart, smooth and thick, and it tasted lovely.

"This is wonderful Helaina thank you!" I said enthusiastically.

I felt a tinge of happiness.

"Oh thank you honey but I can't take credit for this. Ambrose made it" she said.

Suddenly I was aware of the large man in the back of the shop, talking with a bunch of equally huge men.

God, what did they feed the boys here?

"Oh well thank him for me then" I said shyly.

Keir took the drink from my hands and took a sip.

"Not bad" he said lowly.
