I drank the nights away.

Night after night for at least a week now, I've been drinking myself into a stupor.

Kallen and Keir thought I was the life of the party.

Keir praised me for finally getting out of my shell.

Lilabeth knew better.

Even Helaina asked me if everything was okay.

I just nodded and smiled.

Nodding and smiling were about all I did.

'Calle you want to go out?'

Nod and smile.

'Calle let's get drunk and fuck on the beach'

Nod and smile.

Keir had me up and running almost every night.

The man was just as much of a drunk as I was.

It was weird to me how I could be with him almost every second of the day and still be so disconnected.

We had drifted apart so much while being here. We never talk about anything.

All we do is eat sleep and fuck.

I think he knows something is off with me. But it's not affecting him so he doesn't seem to mind.

My thoughts evaded me as I felt the burning glare of the sun against my bruised eyelids.

I had developed harsh dark circles under my eyes from all of the sleepless nights I'd been enduring.

I kind of liked the look.

I hopped out of bed and brewed a black coffee.

The ship had finally been out and they brought all sorts of new products from Melora. I taught Helaina how to grind and crush coffee beans so that they could be heated and strained through water to make coffee.

Gods I had missed coffee.

It never failed to wake me up, especially when I didn't want to be woken.

I took another sip of the bitterly fantastic drink and stepped into the living space.

Checking the sundial, I moved to wake Keir.

"It's late afternoon, I'm going to go spar." that's all I really cared to say.

He reached out and pulled me in by my arm.

I could still smell the booze on his lips as he commanded me to close the curtains.

I cringed slightly and moved off of him to go grab some clothes from my wardrobe.

I dressed in roomy cotton shorts and a tight black tank top.

I threw my hair into a quick updo and slide on a pair of shoes with white coloured socks.

My eyes squinted as they were met with the full glare of the sun.

The path behind the cottage lead me down to the mainland where I found everyone stretching and warming up for the spar.

"Calenthe you naughty girl, I can't believe you're not half dead right now." Kallen burst out.

All of the others joined in laughing.

"What do you mean?" I asked him tiredly.

Durian chuckled. "You went wild last night Cal. Outdrank us all, even Keir." he explained.
