"Those distant, hear the sound! Those close by, see the spectacle. Evildoers fear final justice, because the platinum knight has arrived to defend the weak and innocent. Cutie J is here!"

You glanced over to Keigo to see him happily watching his TV, humming along to the theme of the main hero.

"I wanna be a hero like that too!" He exclaimed, pointing at the hero on the screen. You ruffled his hair gently, making him giggle a little.

"Sure bud, you can be anything you want,"

Happy with your answer, he went back to watching his show, seeing the hero beat up the villains.

It had been about a week since his mother had left him with you, and you'd pretty much given up all hope of her returning. You just couldn't understand it. How could she just leave him behind like that? Just leaving him with some random stranger!

You'd also taken the week off from work so you could properly adjust him to his new life, but your vacation was ending soon, and you needed a way to keep him occupied.

When his show was over, you turned the TV off, squatting down to be eye-level with him.

"Keigo, soon I'm gonna have to go back to work. Do you think you'll be able to handle being alone for a while?"

He nodded confidently,
"I can!"

You smiled, giving him a brief hug.

"Okay Keigo, I'm off to work!"

He waddled over to the door, waving.

"Goodbye!"

You waved back, closing the door.

This was all a test you see, a test to see if the child really could handle being alone for prolonged periods of time. You stayed outside the door, your ear pressed against the wood to listen in.

To your dismay, the boy cracked after just five minutes, beginning to cry and call for you. You burst through the door, immediately cradling him in your arms.

He looked at you with teary eyes,
"I missed you! It was so scary!"

He wiped his tears on the shoulder of your shirt as you gently cooed to him, trying to help him calm down. Yeah, you'd definitely have to find a way to keep him company while you were at work.

But how would you do that? You weren't tight for money, but a babysitter during the weekdays wasn't something you could afford. Then? You came up with an idea.

"Hey Keigo, how would you like to go to school?"

He gazed at you with disbelief,
"Really?! School?!"

You nodded, and he beamed at you. But there was a problem. You didn't have any of his legal documents. You weren't even his legal guardian. How were you going to put him through school?

Maybe you could...
