My Son (young Takami Keigo + m!reader)

"Shhh, it's alright Keigo, I'm here for you, let it all out,"

You soothed your small son as you held him tightly in your arms while he buried his face into your shoulder.

Every now and then little Keigo would be reminded of the abuse he faced, which could sometimes lead to a breakdown.

You'd been helping him with this, teaching him breathing exercises and healthy coping mechanisms, but sometimes he couldn't help but cry, especially when comparing his old life to the one he had now.

Why couldn't his parents have been as kind as you were?

At least he had you now, he would be eternally grateful for the kindness you'd shown him. He liked your hugs, they made him feel safe and warm.

His muffled voice could be heard,
"I think I'm okay now..."

"You sure?"

He pulled away from you, his eyes bloodshot.
"Mhm,"

You kissed his forehead before asking,
"Want one more hug?"

He'd never refuse something like that.

Opening the door, you were greeted by your friend and her son.

"Hi uncle (l/n)!"

"Hi Toya, Keigo's in the living room,"

The boy nodded before running off, his mother chuckling at his action.

"They're real close, aren't they?"
She pointed out while handing you a bag of snacks.

"If we're lucky they'll stay that way. Want something to drink?"

You and Rei both liked these play dates, for one, it gave both of you the opportunity to not have to monitor your children, and two, it was nice to have friendly chats.

You noticed something shining on your friends hand,
"Is that a new ring?"

Her face went a slight pink as she showed it to you,
"My husband bought it for our anniversary. Genuine diamond!"

"Damn! I'm glad things are going good between you and Enji,"

She smiled as she took a sip of her drink,
"Maybe a little too well. He's been spending some more time with the kids, and get this: he wants to have two more!"

Your eyes widened in shock,
"TWO MORE?!"

Suddenly both of the toddlers appeared in front of the two of you, gazing up at you both with their large eyes.

"Two more what?"

You and Rei were too stunned to speak.

You quickly set your mug down before shooing off the children,
"Two more drinks! Now run along you two, don't want to waste your playtime by standing around, do you?"

They both heeded your words before running off which allowed you to speak with your friend again.

You whisper-yelled,
"Two more?!"

She nodded,
"I know, right? The two we have are already enough. Though I do see where he's coming from..."

"Well if you do decide to have more kids, just know that they'll always be welcome in my home,"

She smiled at your words,
"That would mean the world to me. Y'know I'm glad that Toya's friends with little Keigo, hopefully you'll both rub off on him a little,"

You hummed in response before finishing your drink.

It was nice having another parent friend, and you were glad that your son would have a life long friend.

"Goodnight, Keigo,"

You pressed a goodnight kiss on your son's forehead as you turned your lamp off. Tonight, like many other nights, your son had decided that your bed was much more comfort than his, and had chosen to sleep there.

He gave you a forehead kiss in return,
"Goodnight, Dad!"

The little boy then clung onto you before falling asleep, dreaming peacefully and happily because of you.

You were glad to have him.
