"And they were wearing sunglasses for most of the date!"

Rei scoffed,
"That's so unromantic,"

"I know, right? At least they looked good on them,"

She shook her head,
"Young people these days..."

You hummed in response.

"I even had to drive them home! But let me get to the juicy part,"

A curious grin grew on the woman's face as she leaned in to your quieting voice.

"I gave them a kiss on the hand when they left,"

Rei gasped as she went backwards in her seat,
"You are so bad! How'd he react?"

A smug grin was on your face as you recounted your story
"They kind of kept their cool, but their ears were red and the kind of stuttered,"

"After all that you're not even gonna go on a second date? You're so cruel,"

You clicked your tongue at your friend's remarks,
"Like I told you, he has some stuff I don't wanna deal with. Besides, it'd be kind of hard for Keigo to adapt to it,"

Rei sighed as she knew you were right. She'd been secretly rooting for your love life to take off, partly because she felt like you deserved some extra happiness and also because she'd thought it'd just be interesting.

Maybe in the distant future you'd get back to dating. For now you'd settle for a new friend.

(Don't worry I won't mention your blue eyed date  again unless you want it)

It was awfully quiet in your house this night. Usually your son's loud snores or not-so-quiet phone calls with his friends would fill your home, but not a peep could be heard.

Something was up.

Deep down you were kind of proud of Keigo for this moment, finally rebelling against his father, but you also knew it'd probably be annoying to deal with.

You went to your son's room, prepared to knock on his door, but then you finally heard something.

It sounded like... someone fell?

"Ow!"
It was a familiar voice.

"Dude! My dad totally heard that! You gotta hide somewhere!"

"WHERE?!"

"I don't know! Just go into my closet or something!"

Was your son sneaking someone into the house? Hell no, you did not want to deal with an angry parent.

You knocked on his door,
"Keigo, what's that noise? Im coming in,"

"WAIT-"

You opened the door without hesitation, only seeing Keigo sitting on his bed suspiciously.

"Dad, I said to wait!"

"Im sorry Keigo, it's just that I could swear I heard voices,"
