"Keigo! It's bathtime!"
You took your hand out of the tub full of warm water, and heard tiny footsteps approach you.
"I'm here!"
You gave your son a kiss on the forehead before helping him undress. You then helped him into the tub, and he grinned at the warm water enveloping him.
"Can I bring Mr. Policeman here too? Please?"
"Keigo, you know it's not good to bring your stuffed animals into the tub,"
He pouted disappointedly,
"I know..."
You threw a rubber ducky into the tub, and his eyes widened in delight.
"You can play with these though!"
"Yay! Thank you dad! You're the bestest ever!"
While Keigo was distracted with his rubber ducky, you took this as a chance to wash the boy. You used a sponge and some fruity smelling soap to wash his tiny body, making sure to be gentle.
Faded bruises littered his body which you assumed to be the doing of his previous father. How could a man be so cruel to his son? The thought of Keigo being hit made your heart clench in pain.
He really deserved the best.
"Okay buddy, I'm gonna wash your hair now. Close your eyes for me, okay?"
He nodded silently, and you washed his hair. He liked the feeling of your fingers massaging the shampoo into his scalp. To be quite honest, he just liked the feeling of you in general. They boy was very touch starved due to his less than affectionate upbringing.
You finished washing his hair,
"Good job Keigo. Are you ready to get out now?"
He hummed in confirmation, and you helped him out of the tub and onto a towel on the ground. You used another towel to dry him off, and helped him into his little pajamas.
With a yawn, he hugged you, resting his head on your shoulder as you carried him.
He mumbled tiredly,
"I love you dad,"
You chuckled, giving the boy a kiss on the cheek,
"I love you too, Keigo. Never forget that,"
The boy smiled as he drifted off to sleep. He had an exciting day today. Actually it wasn't all that exciting, but any day with you was a great one. At least that's what Keigo thought.
