You stared at your burned hands. One of them was healing nicely, while the other would take a very long time to resemble its old form. The scars were worth it though, and you'd do it all again.

"Okay you three, be nice for Uncle (y/n) and Big bro Keigo, alright?"
Rei told her children as you let them inside.

Rei and Enji were going on a day trip with Touya, a part of their new plan to make all of their children feel special. Four times a month they would go do an activity with one of their children, giving them their full undivided attention. This time it was Touya's turn, then it'd be Fuyumi.

"Uncle (y/n)!"
The three children greeted you with a hug.

You'd been there for most of their lives, being there the day Natsuo and Shoto were born, and being a frequent babysitter for Touya and Fuyumi when they were younger. At this point, you were family.

As you picked Natsuo and Shoto up into your arms, you peeked past Rei to see Touya and Enji waiting for her in the car, a hopeful smile on both their faces. It was nice to see, and you hurriedly shooed away the mother so she'd be able to spend time with her husband and first born.

"Okay you three, what do you wanna do?"

"We wanna go to the mall!"
Natsuo answered.

Shoto pulled a small card out of his pocket,
"Mama gave me her credit card!"

Everyone went silent in shock for a moment.

Rei's logic was this: if she gave it to Fuyumi, she'd end up not using it at all in an attempt to be responsible, if she gave it to Natsuo, he'd lose it somewhere. But if she gave it to Shoto, he'd definitely keep it safe.

"Uh, let me text your mother really quickly,"

After a few moments, Rei confirmed that she did indeed give her toddler her credit card on purpose, and you all were allowed to use it as you'd wished.

"Okay you four, let's get going!"

You took the kids to the car, and began installing a baby chair for Shoto.

"I don't wanna sit in a baby chair anymore! I'm a big boy now!"

"Aww Shoto, you're so cute,"
You said while pinching his cheek, continuing to put in the baby chair.

The boy pouted,
"No I'm not! Mama said I'm handsome!"

You couldn't help but squish his cheeks between your hands,
"Oh you definitely are a handsome little man! But still, you're too small to sit without the baby chair,"

He sighed in defeat as he let you help him into the seat, fastening his seatbelt.

"Don't worry Shoto! Only a few more years and you can sit without a baby seat like me!"
Natsuo tried to cheer up his baby brother.

The other two got into the backseat with their brother, and Keigo sat up front with you.

"Okay Shoto, make sure to hold my hand, okay?"

He reluctantly held onto your hand as you helped him out of the car. He was five years old now, he was big enough to not hold your hand!
