"I know," Bryan said, and I sensed him smirk. "That's why we will be there in the afternoon. I just wanted to tell you so you can prepare."

"Okay, I will also tell the others," he said, aiming to end the call.

"Cool!" I heard through the phone, but then Xenon ended the call without waiting for Bryan to say more.

"So... where was I?" he asked, smiling playfully.

I smiled mischievously as I slowly and seductively sat up. His eyes were full of lust as he bit his lower lip.

I smirked. "Let's talk." Suddenly, he looked into my eyes, and the lust turned emotionless; his face became serious.

Right words to destroy the moment.

"What talk?" he asked, looking innocent.

"Xenon," I warned.

"Fine." He sighed in defeat. "But first, promise me one thing..."

"What is it?" I simply asked.

"Tell me something about you." His voice sounded desperate.

I could hear my heartbeat sing louder... but in anxiousness. I knew he sensed my reaction.

"Claire, my mind keeps thinking about you, and I feel like I don't know anything about you," he said as he sat beside me and held my hand. "I love you, and nothing will change that. Don't deny my curiosity for the person I love." His face held sincerity, and his eyes were desperate to see the truth in me. How would he handle the truth? I don't think he's ready, and most especially... I don't think I am.

I smiled as I sighed. "Fine." Is it really the right time?

A genuine smile crept onto his face, but his eyes turned sad all of a sudden. "I'm sorry I can't introduce you to my family anymore."

Curiosity crept over me. "Why?" Only that word came out of my mouth.

He closed his eyes, and when he opened them, he said, "They're dead." I could see his eyes watering as he bit his lip.

I felt my heart squeeze when I saw the sadness in his watery blue eyes. I had this sympathetic feeling for him. I squeezed his hand, wanting him to know I was with him. "I'm sorry for asking; you don't ne—"

He put his thumb on my lips, shutting me up. "No, you have the right to know, and you need to know. It's been a long time..." He gave a weak smile. "I can handle it."

I nodded in understanding, wanting him to continue. He leaned against the headboard and lifted me, making me sit on his lap. "Better." And he smiled.

I leaned my head on his chest, breathing deeply in his enticing scent just as he started telling a story.

"Seven years ago, I went home from the market, but when I was near our house... I heard my sister screaming... so I hid in the nearest place I could. Just then, I saw my family being dragged by armed men towards their van. I couldn't do anything; they had weapons, and I had none. Suddenly, my eyes turned to a man in a business suit. From there, I knew he was... the leader." I sensed him clenching his hands, so I took one of his hands and intertwined it with mine.

He breathed as he turned calm and continued.

"I reported it to the police, but they ignored me... none of them believed me... they just laughed at me. I left the police station, losing hope. However... one kind man approached me; he helped me with my case, and just then, I discovered he was an inspector. He adopted me and... this house? He gave it to me. He was a lonely man. Rich, but had no one until the day he adopted me. He treated me as his real child; he was there at my darkest moments when it was hard to deal with missing my family. He did not give up on me while helping me with my case... just as he became my Daddy Derif." He smiled weakly while looking straight at the wall.

"One day, we went grocery shopping, but then I saw a familiar man passing the convenience store. It was already dark, but I followed him until I reached an alley. And there... I saw the men who dragged my family to the van. I asked them to give my family back, but instead, they tried to kill me... just when... the Silencer came." I suddenly looked at him.

"The Silencer?" How did he know? So... that was the reason he was there in the alley that night.

He nodded. "I can't believe it, but when I saw how that child fought, I knew it was the Silencer. Daddy Derif proved it. After two months of searching, he discovered something about my case. He gave me a picture, and it was the leader of those men who dragged my family... He told me everything about that man. And I found out that his name was... Marco Baron, the owner of... a secret underground facility." I froze. That was why he was so mad at him... he kept something... he held revenge in his heart.

"Also, the moment I found out that my family... were dead. He killed them... he used them as his samples in his facility." His voice was hard; every word came out of anger. "He is a devil." His aura was too dark; anger radiated from him.

I cupped his cheek as he softened and looked into my eyes. "May I know the names of your family?" I asked softly.

He smiled sadly. "My father's name is Alejandro Montaiz. My mother is Rimelda, and my sister is Angelica... she's pretty," he said, his eyes holding happiness and sadness from remembering old times.

Rimelda and Angelica Montaiz... they are on the list of samples, but... Alejandro Montaiz wasn't there. Is it possible that...?

"You're handsome, so I bet they're pretty good-looking," I said, smiling.

"I am?" he asked playfully.

"You are... what?" I asked, looking innocent.

"I heard it myself. Don't worry; this handsome man... only belongs to you." He smiled as he pinched my cheek.

I gasped and lightly punched his chest. "Oww!" He rubbed his chest, acting hurt. I'm sure it wasn't hard.

"Don't ever do that again," I demanded. Oh, how I hate being pinched in the cheek.

"Your hand is heavy," he said, still in pain.

My face suddenly turned worried. "Hey, I'm sorry. Does it hurt?" I asked out of concern.

He nodded.

"What do you want me to do?" I asked.

"Kiss me," he said, pointing to his lips.

So I did. I pecked his lips and got off his lap as I ran toward the door. "Hey!"

"Bye!" I laughed as I opened the door. I didn't hear anything from him when I closed it. I smirked.

I did promise to tell him about myself, but I did not promise when.

Xenon is a Montaiz... hmm...

Alejandro Montaiz... where could you be?

We will have visitors today, and I already know that...

The real game begins.
