**Xenon's POV**
Love. It’s killing me... I’d rather be dead than feel this, but I’m not a coward.
I felt Claire walking away... her name, her memories, are breaking me into pieces. I clenched my fists and looked up, trying to hold back the tears that wanted to fall. Then I took a breath, calming myself. It hurts so much! Two people betrayed me in one day—two of the most important people in my life.
Why, Claire? Is my love for you not enough? Yeah, how could a merciless, heartless person love me?
Suddenly, we heard clapping coming from the upper left side of the gym. We immediately turned to look, and saw... what the heck!?
“Woah! That was a good scene.” She smirked, sitting like a princess in the corner near the roof... with popcorn in her hand??? Who the heck is this girl?
Did she see everything!? Really? I didn’t even feel her presence! From the smirk on her lips, it seems like she’s someone—if Claire is the Silencer and she’s Claire’s cousin... could it be that she’s...
“Oh em, the huntress!” Blake said, immediately kneeling down, followed by Blue, in a sign of respect for the royal.
“How long have you been there?” Adrian asked in shock. “Do you think this is a soap opera!?” he exclaimed in disbelief. Who could have ever believed that the three legendaries are girls and that they have been with us in our journey, hidden in plain sight.
“Stand up.” She said, referring to Blake and Blue, who immediately obeyed with smiles on their faces. Tch, then she looked at Adrian. “Well... I love eating popcorn while watching the whole scene.” She shrugged and jumped smoothly onto the floor.
“What the heck?” I heard Lucas murmur, partly agape. Even I was shocked—that was way too high! From the metal supporting the roof down to the ground.
She walked closer towards me, but I couldn’t even move from my spot. When she got closer, she leaned into my ear and whispered, “You just woke the demon out of her.” She faced me, smirking.
I don’t know why, but I felt scared... fear gripped me. Why? And what does she mean? She turned her body and walked away, disappearing from my sight.
*I’m Zoey Caspillan, her cousin. How about you?* I was an idiot; why didn’t I realize it earlier?
“Xen! We caught Marco!” I turned around to see Coby dragging the evil Marco, while Manny followed behind them.
“Let go of me!” Marco struggled in Coby’s hold.
Where the heck did they come from!? Well, it doesn’t matter anymore. I could see bruises all over Marco—it seems like he was beaten up before he got here. Seeing him, my blood boil and anger rose up.
I smirked.
“As you wish,” Coby harshly stated and threw Marco in front of me. “He’s yours,” he said, smiling victoriously.
“F*ck you!” Marco tried to escape, but I quickly took my gun out of my pocket and pointed it at him.
“Run and catch my bullet,” I threatened, my voice firm and... dark.
He froze on the spot and turned to face me. Seeing his face rekindled my anger. This man destroyed my family... my life.
I kicked his face hard, making him collapse on the floor and cough up blood. “How dare you!” He glared at me, trying to gather himself to fight back.
“How dare me?” This time, I laughed evilly. “You destroyed my family!” I punched his face, making him fall again.
“D... destroyed?” His voice was weak but laced with confusion. “I don’t know what... you’re talking about.”
“I am Xenon Montaiz, son of Alejandro Montaiz.” After I said my father’s name, his eyes widened in realization.
“I-I... I didn’t do anything!” He said in a panic, trying to crawl backward.
My anger rose. “Why feel guilty?” I could feel the chill in my cold voice. I walked closer to him.
“Do-don’t come any closer!” he said frantically, fear evident in his voice.
I walked faster and grabbed his collar. “Don’t order me around, asshole!” I punched his face while still holding his collar. “What did you do to my family?”
He smirked. “Your sister is... heaven.” He said, licking his lips.
My blood boiled to its highest point. “You devil!” I punched him again and again.
“Lucas! Get me some gas,” I ordered Lucas, and he rushed somewhere.
“Where are they!?” I yelled in anger, looking at Marco, whom I couldn’t even recognize anymore because of his battered condition, bruised and soaked in blood.
He laughed weakly, lying on the ground. “W-what do you e-expect? They’re d-dead.”
Not long after, Lucas handed me a gallon of gas. “Here.”
I nodded, taking it. “Wha... what will y-you d-do?” Marco asked in fear.
Feel the fear your victims felt. Feel the fear of the people you killed.
“What else? Sending you to hell.” I said, pouring the gas on his body.
“No... please.” He pleaded.
When the gallon was empty, I threw it aside.
“What? I can’t hear you,” I stated sarcastically, taking the lighter out of my pocket.
“Don’t do that... please. I-I’ll give you anything. A-anything you want.” He tried to sit up, crawling away from me.
I’m surprised he can still move after the beating he took.
I smirked, lighting the lighter I was holding. “Too bad... you don’t have what I want.” I said and threw it at him.
“No! Aaaahh!” He shouted, trying to wriggle and stop the fire, but it only grew larger every time he moved. He tried to stand, but he couldn’t because of his weakened state. He screamed, but no one cared.
We watched from a distance as he burned, crying for help, but no one listened.
That’s what he gets for killing innocents.
“Send my regards to hell,” I said as I watched his body turn to ashes. I sighed in relief, turning my back and walking out of the place. My mission is done.
But my heart is dead.
