Finally morning, your alarm clock ran of, starting ringing and buzzing like crazy.
You lazily tried to reach over before someone from your family heard it and scolded you about making noise in the morning, but Ben had other plans.
He tightly hugged you, stopping you from reaching out to the clock, mumbling the words "Just a little more."
"I need to turn it off, Ben..." You whispered.
He groaned, hiding his face on your shoulder. "But whyyyy?" He whined.
You rolled your eyes at him and tried to get out of his squeeze, and it worked!—half way.
You had almost your full body out of bed, for the exception of one arm that bed was hugging tightly. "Can you like, let me go?" You laughed, trying to reach the alarm.
"But you're warm..." He groaned, it was obvious that he hadn't sleep in a long time, drool was coming out of his mouth, and the way he talked looked like he was hungover.
You sighed, and reached the alarm clock with the tip of your fingers and smashed it to see if it would stop ringing. It did.
You turned around to see Ben still sleeping, now not hugging your arm as hard as before, but rather just holding it. You smiled to thensit at the edge of the bed, poking Ben to wake up.
"My parents could find you..!" You whispered.
"But... Bed..." He mumbled while covering himself with the covers.
You groaned, removed the sheet from him, and demanded, "Hey, you promised you'll be out by morning, I cannot risk it, you need to leave."
Ben finally agreed, and slowly started to get up. He was still half-asleep, anyhow.
Sadly, not everything could be right.
Fast footsteps were heard going up the stairs, by the sound of those footsteps it was clear it was your mother—Why would she be up so soon?
You panicked, by the expression on Ben's face he noticed the footsteps too. You two were looking at the room, somewhere to hide Ben from being found. Then you saw it: your closet.
It was wide open, a mountain of clothes piled up—you didn't know if they were clean or not, but that looked like the only place for now.
You pushed Ben into the closet, not without saying first "DON'T make a sound" as you pushed him and closed the doors. It was a solid closet, you needed to open the door to see the stuff inside—and some of the corners where dark, so there was a chance that even if the closet was open, Ben would still have hide.
You rushed to your bed, grabbed you phone and pretended that you were watching anything. The door slammed open, your mother's eyes looking across the room. "I heard someone."
"Who?" You asked, trying to sound sleepy, even though you've been up for a while nos.
She looked again across the room, to then make eye contact with you. "You are not bringing anyone home, are you?"
"It's my phone" You replied, "How can I bring someone home if I don't know anybody?"
She stood silent for a while, "It's too early to use your phone" She walked to the door "You are going to get blind one of these days..."
She left not without leaving the door half-way open. Classic. It always annoyed you, but you couldn't say anything or else she would scold you about "If you had nothing to hide, then you wouldn't mind the door".
You waited a couple of minutes until you heard she exit the house to go to work. You sighed in relief and went to open the closet, but when you where putting a foot on the floor, a hand grabbed your ankle.
Your immediate thought was to scream, but remembered that your dad and brother were still in the house, so just hardly step on the hand until it stopped grabbing you.
Almost immediately, you heard a voice complain about the stomps—"Ouch!" It said.
You were astonished to find Ben crawling out of your bed, totally normal like he didn't just made a magic trick.
"My hand!" He whined while standing up, "That hurted a lot."
"How did you—How?!" You trembled, wondering how the fuck could that happen.
"Huh? Oh, right—sorry if I scared you... I have a couple tricks up my sleeve, ya' know?"
You stared at him in disbelief, how is that even physically possible?!
"Just—get out." You groaned. "It's morning, you promised."
"A bit moreee!" He insisted while hugging you.
"I can't risk it! Come on... I don't want you to leave either!" You replied. Ben nodded, and left a big sigh out to then give you one last hug before leaving.
"I'm gonna start staying here more often, so you know."
"Just to fuck it up, deal?" You laughed.
He opened the window, and jumped off. You reclined at the border of it to wave Ben goodbye. Sometimes he could be so... Him, you could say.
But you also had a duty—since it was morning, you had to take care of your brother, your mom was already out, and your father would go soon too. You needed to do the chores, because "you don't do nothing the whole day."
Well, that was true before, but now you made a few friends, so technically you had something to do.
"Wakey wakey! Alexander David L/N, wake up!" You screamed trying to get down the stairs. "Brush your teeth before coming down stinky boy!"
A busy day, honestly.
