Mel had a ticket from Toronto to Vancouver. One way. She was on her way to a job interview. To be the next big Hollywood start had always been her dream. She was an elegant beauty of course. She looked almost like Marilyn Monroe, besides her hair being a rich black color.
She'd even cut a centimetre off the end of one of her high heels to give her walk that certain wiggle, just like Marilyn.
Vancouver had become the third largest centre for the film industry in North America, hence its nickname, "Hollywood North." But she was looking to go big. I mean, it couldn't be that hard could it?
Life was a clock that had a continuos tick, reminding you your days are short. And, she was out to make it the best it could be.
There was another reason she was running, she had a bad drug habit & owed her dealer 20k. She'd raised 10k when she'd spoke to him last. She knew the interest would keep growing, as a pretty girl she knew he'd end up pimping her. She put the money in a bag and got the train.
She would use the money to become famous. To be even more beautiful. Under her eyes she had slight bags but not too much.
Mel made her way to the dining car, like something the orient express but not quite as glamorous.
Still, it was quaint and she had a pot of tea and a sandwich.
A mysterious gentlemen was making eyes at her from a neighbouring table.
