The next day, the other three villain kids sit on the beds staring at me and Evie. We both just explained to them what had happened yesterday while we worked in my studio. Jay looks like he's still trying to process what we told him, and Carlos looks close to bursting into tears. Mal, however, looks angry. More than angry in fact.
"You what?" Mal asks Evie who looks at her with anxious eyes. Carlos stands up, walks over to me, and hugs me tightly.
"Thank you." His voice cracks a little and I hug him. Jay stands up and hugs me too.
"I don't even know why you're helping us, but thanks shorty." I glare playfully at him. Just because my short height of 5'1 just barely makes his shoulders doesn't mean he has to comment on it.
"Why did you tell her?" Mal says to Evie harshly. The boys step back as Evie looks at her best friend.
"The stress of the mission is eating me, and she noticed. Plus, you made it obvious with how much you mentioned the wand on the first day." Evie tells her calmly. Mal grits her teeth and narrows her eyes.
"You shouldn't have told her. Now we have to make sure she doesn't tell anyone." Mal snaps at her, and I raise my eyebrow. Who does she think she is? If I was going to tell someone, wouldn't I have done it already? I guess Mal and I aren't as close as I thought.
"You better not tell anyone, Rose." Mal tells me and I just look at her. Does she think she scares me? I have no problem fighting back. I square my shoulders and stare her down.
"Or what? Mal, if I was going to tell someone, I would have already. I just thought you guys shouldn't have to face this thing alone. I thought we were friends, but if you want me to back away, I will. I won't tell anyone, but I figured you'd like some help." Mal stands there thinking about it. It'd be a good move. I could go places that they can't. No one would question it if I were found wondering around the wand. Plus, I could tell them things that they would have trouble finding out by themselves.
"Why do you want to help us?" She asks me after a minute, and I can see the caution in her eyes. Now I get why she's so mad. Trust is most likely very hard to come by on the Isle, so the fact that a non-villain is willing to help out...I can see why she doesn't trust it.
"Mal, you guys are my friends. I don't care if you guys are trying to destroy the world, you're my friends and I help my friends. Plus, you guys have suffered enough. I want to bring all the kids from the Isle to Auradon, and if that means taking down the barrier, then that is what I'll do."
"You really want that? To bring everyone over?" Evie asks me.
"Of course. You four are just the first ones. After Ben's coronation, I plan to ask him to bring more kids over. I plan to have Dizzy be in the next group." Evie smiles at me and starts tearing up.
"My little Dizzy? Oh, she would absolutely love it here. She deserves the chance to be here." I smile at her and nod my head.
"That's why I want to bring everyone over. Everyone deserves a chance to be here, even if I have to fight through thick and thin to get everyone here." Mal nods her head and sits down, going back to planning. "So, with that being said, what is the next move for the wand? Have you thought of anything?"
"We haven't really gotten anywhere. Mal is the one that plans everything, but even she's been having trouble." Carlos tells me as he sits next to said purple haired girl. She glares at him playfully before hitting him in the arm with her spell book. Evie starts flipping through her magazines again as Jay starts up a video game on his laptop, which I don't even know how he got, but don't really care about.
"Alright, well the only time the wand will be out of its case is during coronation. As much as I hate to ruin my brother's big day, and I really don't want to destroy my brother's most important moment, that would be the only day you could get even close to it." I explain to Mal. I really honest to God didn't want to ruin Ben's coronation. He's been looking forward to it for months, not to mention all the time and work going into making the day perfect. Maybe a miracle will happen, and they'll suddenly want to stay in Auradon.
