Chapter 3: Queen of Mean

With Audrey

That night, after Mal and the gang had gotten back and settled the new VK kids in with the help of Rose, Audrey sits in her room. She's crying as she draws a picture of her in the queen's crown in her diary. She had planned to come back for this school year and win Ben back, but that had all went down the drain when he proposed to Mal.

Mal. Just the name alone has Audrey glaring at her diary in anger. The purple-haired girl had stolen everything from Audrey without even apologizing to her. She had spelled Ben to love her, then kept him after the drama with Maleficent. Then, Mal says yes to marrying him which takes the crown from Audrey, too. She'd been training for that role her whole life because it was promised to her.

 A lifetime of plans, gone. All that work down the drain. Your mother could hold onto a prince in her sleep. Those are the words that her grandmother had spoken to her, and just thinking about them brings on new tears. Sobbing at what she had lost, Audrey sings quietly to herself.

"I'm so tired of pretending. Where's my happy ending?

I followed all the rules, I drew inside the lines.
I never asked for anything that wasn't mine.
I waited patiently for my name, but when it finally came,
he called her name.
And now I feel this overwhelming pain."

Audrey stands from her spot on her large pink sheeted bed and starts to walk around her room.

"I mean it's in my veins. I mean it's in my brain.
My thoughts are running in a circle like a toy train.
I'm kinda like a picture with a broken frame,
and I know exactly who to blame.

She picks up an old picture of her and Ben, smiling sadly at it. Then she remembers this afternoon, and she throws the picture down onto her pink sitting room couch. She then turns and grabs the fireplace poker, gripping it close to her in anger.

"I never thought of myself as mean.
I always thought that I'd be the Queen.
And there's no in between,
cause if I can't have that,
then I would be the leader of the dark and the bad."

Audrey dances around her room, waving the fire poker through the air angrily.

"Now there's a devil on my shoulder where the angels used to be,
and he's calling me the Queen..."

Audrey glares at her bedroom doorway before an idea comes to mind. If they want a villain, then she'd give them one. Making her way across the school, she sneaks into Evie and Mal's room, stealing the sleeping mist Evie has.

She then heads to the museum, and Audrey spray's the security guard, putting him to sleep. Audrey then shuts the security and cameras off before making her way through the building to the Queen's Crown display.

"Being nice was my pastime,
but I've been hurt for the last time.
And I won't ever let another person take advantage of me."

Audrey walks around the crown's display, glaring at the crown as she sings.

"The anger burns my skin, third-degree.
Now my blood's boiling hotter than a fiery sea.
There's nobody getting close to me.
They're gonna bow to the Evil Queen.
Your nightmares my dream.
Just wait until they fall to my wicked schemes."

Audrey grins wickedly before she raises the fire poker and smashes the glass on the display. She carefully reaches forward, avoiding the glass, as she grabs the crown and steals it for herself. If she wasn't going to get it by playing nice, then she'd take back everything that had been stolen from her by force.
