Chapter 19: Save the Queen

"Mal, you fly up there and finish Audrey. I'll see if I can get Celia!" Rose shouts at her, grabbing her sword and running into the school. She couldn't understand why Audrey would go after Celia since her main goal is to take Mal down. Rose races through the hallways and makes it to the stairs of the tower. Holy hell, that's a lot.

She eventually makes her way to the very top to see that Mal has turned into a dragon like she told her to. Audrey is holding Celia against her with the scepter against the girl's throat, and Rose takes careful steps towards her. Audrey attacks Mal with the scepter, draining the girls magic and making her weaker.

"Audrey." Rose calls, and the girl in dark purple turns to look at her. "I get you're going after Mal, but Celia has nothing to do with that. Let her go, Audrey."

"I thought you wanted to watch the world burn, Rose!" Audrey snaps at Rose, who holds her hands up in surrender. Rose really didn't want to fight the girl who could kill her and the baby in a single attack.

"I do, Audrey. Believe me, I want Mal to pay for what she's done just as much as you do, but hurting Celia won't get that done."

"You've gotten soft on me. Let's take care of that." Audrey says and throws the scepter forward. A blast of green and pink smoke hits Rose, throwing her back as she rolls along the floor. She doesn't move when she slams into the wall of the tower, and Celia's eyes widen.

"ROSE!!" Celia cries as Mal looks at the girl in horror. Mal prays and prays that Rose and the baby are alright because if not...Mal didn't even want to think about that aftermath.

Hearing her name being screamed, Uma and Harry come running to see dragon Mal fighting Audrey, and Celia screaming as she reaches for the ground in front of her. Uma gasps as she quickly catches on to what happened, and she can feel her heart shattering. Rose had told Uma about the baby before the boys had come back, and now she's terrified that Rose and the baby didn't survive that blast.

"Harry, Mal isn't going to be able to fight her on her own. Run up there to get Rose and Celia while I help Mal!" Uma says, shoving him towards the school and hoping he can find his way around. "MAL! I'm right here! Regain your might and ignite!"

Uma chants as she throws as much magic out towards the Ember as she can while Mal blows on it with her fire. Soon, the Ember lights up and Mal uses it to counter Audrey's next attack. The Ember's magic overpowers the scepter's magic, breaking the gem in the top. Audrey is thrown back against the wall, falling to the ground unconscious.

Mal lands on the tower, turning back into her human form as Harry comes flying up the stairs. Celia runs over to Rose along with Harry and Mal checks on Audrey. Soon, Uma comes running up the stairs, gasping at the sight of an unconscious Rose.

Mal tries to use the Ember, but since she's only half Hades, it doesn't work like she needs it to. Sobbing, Mal tells Harry to pick Rose up while she gets Audrey. Mal quickly brings them all to Rose's room, since it had been the closest.

Harry and Uma would've been in awe of all the rose, hook, anchor, and ship artwork on the walls and in her furniture, but they were too worried about Rose. Mal quickly texts the group to get to Rose's room immediately in case they're no longer stoned.

It's morning by the time everyone makes it to Rose's room. Audrey's grandmother, and former King Beast and Queen Belle soon join everyone as they all watch the two girls closely. Mal has tried several times to use the Ember to wake both girls, but she's not powerful enough to do it.

"They're slipping away, guys." Evie says, and Harry starts to pace the room as he stares intently at his girlfriend. He'd just got her back, and he wasn't about to lose her again. He had even tried to wake her by kissing her, but that didn't work. Growling, he storms over to Mal.
