Chapter 6: Revenge Tastes Sweet

After the gang process the fact that Audrey is now in control of the scepter, and that she has Rose helping her, they turn to Mal. Which is another thing they did not think they would be seeing.

"Whoa!" Jay yelps, jumping back into Carlos as they all stare at Mal's new look. "Uh, Mal. You might be wanting to think of a spell for that."

"There's no spell powerful enough to reverse a curse from my mother's scepter." Mal tells Jay as Evie grabs Mal's arm gently, letting her lean against her.

"Oh, well...that's a shame." Carlos comments, Jay and Ceila agreeing. The young girl had come out when the others did to see what all the noise had been. Mal rolls her eyes as she looks at the group.

"Forget about me, guys. Audrey and Rose are out for revenge, and all of Auradon is in danger. Now, I don't know if Rose is willingly doing this or if Audrey spelled her, too." Mal explains to them, and Evie looks at her in fear. They never thought they'd have to actually face off against Rose, and none of them are looking forward to it.

"The only thing that is more powerful than my mother's scepter is Hades Ember." Mal tells them, and the boy's scoff. They all know that Hades isn't just going to hand his one prized possession over to them, which makes this much harder than it has to be.

"No one even knows where Hades lives. No one has seen his lair." Evie points out, causing the boys to deflate even more. That's another valid point made, but luckily, Celia has a plan.

"I do. I'm his errand rat when I'm done with my dad's errands. I've got the key to Hades's lair at my dad's shop." Ceila tells them, and Mal points at her, saying that she's coming with them to get the Ember.

"Mal?" Dizzy calls as she walks outside with the twins behind her. However, when they all catch sight of the new Mal, they all scream in terror. "What happened?"

"Dizzy, stay with the twins. Rose and Audrey are out for revenge against Auradon." Evie tells the girl, and Dizzy moves the twins back to the living room before coming back to the front door.

"Guys, if you're going up against Rose, you don't stand a chance. None of you do." Dizzy tells them, and Jay goes to defend himself. He stops when he sees everyone's pointed looks, and sighs. They all knew what they had to do, but they didn't like this any better. "Be careful. He's gotten ten times worse since you took Rose from him. Watch your backs around him."

"Get your things boys." Evie tells the boys as she nods her head in thanks to Dizzy. None of them wanted to even go within range of Harry, but they knew that he's the only one who could take down Rose. They needed him, but they knew that convincing him wouldn't be easy.

"How bad is it?" Mal asks Evie as the boys run inside. Evie smiles kindly at her best friend, not having the heart to tell her that she looks like her mother had when she poisoned Snow White.

"You age beautifully." Evie tells her before getting serious. "Mal, how are we going to tell Harry what's happened if we won't even be able to get near him?"

"We'll have to pray that hearing her name will be enough for him to hear us out." Mal tells her before the girl's head into the mini castle, getting ready for what they'll have to face on the Isle.

Jane's party with Audrey and Rose

Jane's birthday party is in full swing as everyone mingles and eats the food provided. Jane had wanted to have her birthday right next to the Enchanted Lake seeing as that's where her and Carlos have most of their dates.

Jane stands in the gazebo that's on the water with Chad standing next to her. He's trying to cheer her up since she's worried about Carlos. The boy had said he'd be there right before the party started, but he's late. Carlos has never been late to any of their plans before, so Jane knows that there's something wrong.
