Third POV

It has been one month since Ziggy has been released from the hospital and has returned back to school. Ziggy hated the pity looks she'll receive at school. After school, Ziggy would go to the hospital and stay with Cindy until visiting hours were over. Maya would come visit as well and sometimes Nick would join Maya as well. Ziggy never told Maya this but she hated going home because she was alone since her mom was out drinking or working that's if she still has her job. She would be alone having nightmares of Camp NightWing throughout the night. She never told Maya about the nightmares since she didn't want to bother Maya with her problems. She didn't want Maya to treat her like a fragile person.

Cindy Hospital Room

Ziggy was in Cindy room working on her homework. When she hears knocking on the door.

"Come in." Ziggy said already knowing who it is she hears the door open and close.

"Hey Ziggy, I brought food." Maya said as she places a bag of food on the table. Ziggy turns around and greets Maya with a kiss, "Thank you Maya."

"How's Cindy doing?" Maya asked pulling away from the kiss and takes out the food from the bag that she bought for her and Ziggy, "The same as usual." Ziggy replied disappointed Ziggy hoped Cindy would move her hand, squeeze her finger, open her eyes but all she got was Cindy chest rising and falling.

Maya frowns at the news, "Cindy a strong fighter I'm sure she'll make progress. Just give it time." Maya assures her. Ziggy smiles and stands up and hugs Maya.

The two stay like this not letting go of each other, "I promise everything going to turn out fine." Maya promises. "I hope so." Ziggy mutters hoping Maya is right.

Maya pulls away and kisses Ziggy forehead, "Now let's eat."

The two ate their food and Maya would help Ziggy with her homework that she didn't understand. Maya narrows her eyes at Ziggy noticing how tired she looks. For the past month Maya has noticed Ziggy looking tired. At first she thought it was because she was getting caught up on the homework she missed that it has gotten in the way of her sleeping but now Maya knows it something else that's preventing Ziggy from getting sleep. She's been waiting for Ziggy to tell her but she hasn't told Maya anything.

"Ziggy." Maya said gaining Ziggy attention, "You know you can tell me anything, right?" Maya asked. "Yeah I know, Maya." Ziggy replied confused why Maya would ask her that.

Maya sighed that Ziggy wasn't being honest with her, "Can you tell me why you look tired? You look like you barely got any sleep." Maya asked concerned. Ziggy looked away and focused her attention on her homework, "It's nothing." She mumbled.

Maya lifted Ziggy chin to face her, "Ziggy I want to help but I can't do that if you're not telling me what's wrong. Please let me help you." Maya pleaded.

Ziggy finally broke down and hugged Maya she cried on Maya's shoulder. She let out all the pain she's kept to herself for the past month. Maya returned the hug and whispered comforting words.

Once Ziggy calmed down she told Maya everything the pity looks she receives at school, being alone at the house, the constant nightmares that prevents her from sleeping, and the hospital bills that she found yesterday. Hearing Ziggy say this made Maya feel even more guilty for she's the reason Ziggy going through this as well as why Cindy in a coma. But she couldn't tell Ziggy the truth it result in Ziggy resenting her and seeing her as a monster. All Maya can do is be here for Ziggy through this tough time.

"I didn't want you to see me as a fragile girl who needs to be protected. That's why I didn't tell you plus you're in you're final year of high school and I didn't want to bother you with my problems." Ziggy explained Maya cups Ziggy cheek, "I will never see you as a fragile girl. You'll always be Ziggy Berman, the stubborn girl who never listened and caused mischief." Maya says with a small smile making Ziggy smile back.

"I'm not stubborn." Ziggy playfully said feeling slightly better, "Okay keep telling yourself that." Maya replied earning a playful punch in the shoulder.

"Shut up, Goode." Ziggy tells her, "Make me." Maya muttered smirking. Ziggy stares at her and down at her lips and back at her.

"Fine."

Ziggy grabs Maya by the collar and pulls her into a long passionate kiss.
