Forty Three

I'd been in the bath for an hour. Having spent the week in the gym, pushing myself well beyond my limits in preparation for tonight, I was aching from head to toe. Luckily this had helped and I felt so much better now. No aches, no pains. I was so ready.

"Baby?" I heard Lu shout.

"I'm just getting out the bath." I applied the moisturiser to my legs, foot on the bath side as he opened the door. "You okay?" I looked up and smiled at him. He raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah. Are you?"

"Yeah I'm great."

"Feeling better? Still achy?" He walked over, pulling the towel off my back and smirking.

"No. I'm good."

"Good. I don't want you getting hurt again tonight." I rolled my eyes, standing up and taking the towel from his hands, putting it over the heater to dry.

"I'm going to be fine. Besides you'll be there the whole time." He kissed me quickly as I walked into the bedroom to get changed.

"Yeah. I'm not leaving your side for a second." I smiled. The thought of watching Lu work was starting to get to me. I'd leave right now if we could. I was beyond excited. He'd watched me work, pull the trigger dozens of times, bring them down without batting an eyelid. The anticipation of doing it beside him and watching him do the same. It's hot as fuck too.

God. Him covered in blood.

I can't. I giggled, biting my lip as my body flushed red.

"What are you giggling at?" He sat down beside where I was stood as I pulled my clothes on for tonight.

"Nothing."  I smirked, looking at him quickly. "You look good in black."

"So do you." I pulled the black crop top of shaking my hand behind him to the belt. He handed it to me and I attached it to me, pulling the leg strap on and clipping that together too. "Keep that on when we get home." He stared at my leg, putting his fingers in the strap and pulling me onto the bed beside him. He pinned me down and I scowled. "Get me off."

"Haven't we done enough of this this week?" I raised my eyebrows and he shook his head.

"I don't want you getting a concussion because someone pins you down again." I rolled my eyes and fought against him.

We'd done so much of this after that call with Z on Saturday afternoon. I'd stood up, wiping my head with the towel. He stare at me for a while, expecting me to freak out. Until I told him I had to get my strength up and quickly. He agreed and suddenly the guy that was telling me I was pushing myself too hard was telling me to go harder. Lift more, push more, fight more. And he didn't go easy on me either. He really pushed against me.

Even now, he was trying to hurt me. I could see it. I knew why and it was fine. But if he was trying to intentionally hurt me and I could avoid it, I'd be fine. I eventually got him onto his back, his hands pinned above his head and my hand around his throat. I smiled, leaning down and kissing him as he nodded.

"Okay some on finish getting ready, everyone's downstairs eating pizza." I nodded. I only needed to put my makeup on now. I hadn't got my hair wet in the bath, knowing I'd be sat for hours drying it and making tidy rather then the birds nest that it would be if I washed it and blow dried it.

He stood up and walked across the room, coming back a second later and sliding a takeout coffee cup in front of me, kissing the back of my head.

"Drink this too. I need you wide awake." I looked at him in the mirror.

"You know I've done this kind of thing before right?" I chuckled as I started with my makeup but he just stared at me. "What now?"

"Nothing. You're just so fucking beautiful." I put down the brush turning to face him. "I'm excited to be beside you tonight when you do this. To watch you take back everything they took from you." He bent down, putting his hands on either side of my face. "Nicky's here too."

"He is?"

"Yeah he brought some guys down. Arlo knows somethings going on. Something big. He doesn't know what, Nicky said he's being very forceful in trying to get people to spill because he needed to 'know you're okay'" Lu rolled his eyes. "Nicky said that you're fine. Just a big job that we needed all hands on deck for."

"Bet he didn't like that." I smirked.

"No." Lu chuckled. "Nicky said he went bat shit, saying if we needed hands he had 2 that worked fine." I giggled, looking up at the clock behind him.

"I really need to get ready." He nodded, standing up and spinning my chair around for me.

"Come down as soon as your ready baby. I'll save you some pizza." I leaned my head back against him slightly as a thank you before picky up my brush again and continuing as he left.

Tonight had come around quickly. The night terrors had been a lot more intense. Me barely getting any sleep, especially last night meant I was taking naps through the day, so my sleep schedule was fucked. I hoped tonight would reboot it, that I'd feel better after, hopefully they'd stop and I'd get a solid nights sleep. God knows I needed it.

I sipped the coffee as I put my music on, turning the volume up loud. I needed to keep this excited vibe going, get hyped up pump myself with so much confidence it would explode the second we got there, like a glitter bomb, touching every single person in the 2 mile area.

I was ready.

This wasn't for me. Not anymore.

This was for them.
