We all put on our dress, trying not the mess up the make up or hair. Even still, the assistants tut, carry there brushes over and redo my makeup.
"Just a touch up sweetie". I look out the window; the sun is setting. Shades of red and orange light up the cold winter evening.
Soon after, the assistants leave to get ready themselves.
"How are you feeling?", Carla asks.
"Excited", I say, "But very nervous".
"There is nothing to be nervous about, I promise", Isabelle says and somehow, I feel even more excited.
"How are you feeling Kayla?", Carla asks, sitting herself next to Kayla who is, once again, busy on her phone, "Who are you texting?". Carla reaches to grab the phone off of Kayla, "Yes", she reads off of the phone, "Clove looks really pretty. I'm really happy for her".
"Awh Kayla", I say in awe, hugging her,"your not a soulless teenager after all!". Kayla glares.
"Oh, I like this bit", squeals Carla, "Xander said: I'm 100% sure you look just as pretty Kay. And who knows, maybe one day we'll have our fairy tale ending". We all awh.
Out of no where, a trumpet blares, making us all jump.
"That's the first trumpet, signalling the guests to take there seats". We don't speak until the next one blares, just minutes after, "that's us Clove. See you on the other side". Then I'm all alone. Today, I am getting married. Today, I will become Mrs Hadley and marry Cato, the love of my life.
"Hey", my dad says, walking in, "You look very beautiful Clove. Your mother and I are so so proud of you". The last and final trumpet, "You ready?".
I nod, "Yeah".
We walk down stairs and out of the door and into the winter wonderland. Hand in hand, we follow the path down to the snow covered beach until we see Lillian, madly waving.
"And I thought Carla was over excited", my dad mumbles.
"Okay", she begins, "Clove stand here with you arm linked into his. Wait for the signal, then follow the row of trees down, you'll begun to walk under and arch. Follow the black silky carpet down, walking in time to the music. Your dad will hand you over and bam, you'll be Mrs Hadley. Got it?".
I nod slowly. Another trumpet. Lillian runs off to take her place and we do as we were told and wait. A melodic tune starts up, a traditional family piece that stands for honer, peace and love. All things that must be shown in a marriage.
Then, it's time. With Kayla at the front, the bridesmaids walk out. Carla and Is right behind her, Annie and Johanna at the back. Butterflies take over my whole body and I'm scared I will fly away.despite this, I can't help smiling.
"Ready?".
"Ready". Then, we walk.
