NETEYAM didn't say a word and just sat himself beside her, slowly letting his hand glide off her shoulder. He was hugging his legs tightly while looking into the ocean. The silence wasn't awkward or anything it was rather calm and made Tuseÿa feel comfortable for some reason. They both sat there for awhile listening to the ocean waves.
Tuseÿa had a lot of questions, but she always had so she decided to just stay quiet and enjoy the comforting atmosphere that was lingering between the two. After what happened to her earlier she was glad to have someone next to her.
Neteyam turned his head to her direction, silently glancing at her face for awhile.
"You said my name for the first time today." He broke the silence a small laugh leaving his mouth, making Tuseÿa turn her head in confusion. She hadn't noticed that he had been looking at her and quickly shied away in embarrassment of the sudden eye contact they just had.
"Did I?" Tuseÿa mumbled concentrating on the ocean again, though she still felt Neteyam's eyes on her even after looking away.
"Yeah," he laughed, "when you were screaming at me, I deserved it though." he lifted his hands in defense, scared that she would take it the wrong way.
Tuseÿa hadn't forgotten, she knew when she said it, she just didn't want to talk about it. "Why are you even here? Was following me once not enough?" She changed the subject throwing rocks into the water to keep her hands busy.
"I wasn't following you the first time." He replied quickly not denying that he was this time.
"I was searching for my brother and then.. I saw you running off, it seemed as if you were still angry, very angry. People do stupid stuff when they're angry."
Tuseÿa scuffed, finding it funny that he was the one to talk after he had fought with his brother not too long ago.
"I had this feeling that something would happen to you, so ..." he continued, stopping at one point not knowing how to finish his sentence without making it sound like he had actually followed her.
"So you followed me." She finished his sentence looking him in the eyes again.
„Yeah.. basically, but you make it sound as if I did something bad." he nervously scratched the back of his head. Tuseÿa only now realized that Neteyam was still bleeding and no one had tended to his wounds yet.
Neteyam noticed her worried expression, and pointed at the bruise he got on his lip, "Embarrassing right, I know. But every mighty warrior needs a scar."
Although he was laughing it looked it must have still hurt a little. Tuseÿa suddenly felt a feeling of empathy towards the boy. She scrunched her eyebrows in worry as if she were the one in pain.
He lets his head fall down, his braided hair covering his face. Tuseÿa didn't know what had possessed her into doing it but she hesitantly lifted her hand, softly brushing his hair out of his face, tucking it behind his ear.
Shocked by the sudden touch Neteyem's eyes met Tuseÿa's again. It was like they couldn't keep their eyes off each other, no matter how hard both of them tried, they always found themselves being lost in them.
She let her fingers float inside of the ocean for a few seconds after putting her wet fingers on his soft lips, cleaning up the dried blood gently. While she was busy with cleaning up the blood, he still looked deeply into her blue-greenish eyes waiting for her to return the eye contact.
But she didn't.
Because when she looked into his eyes she lost control over herself and was capable of doing bad bad impulsive things.
