Chapter 5: Lost Past

After last night I wake up and just do what I always do but once I see Rachel again my mind goes back to last night but I shake it off as I didn't want to ruin our time together but I still wonder if she would actually be willing to date me.

"So Rachel where are we going today?" I asked as Rachel leads me to the forest and she asked me to show her the lab where I woke up from which I agree to. After walking for a couple minutes we reach the lab and enter however the power was still off so I brought some torches as we start walking through looking for any information that could fill in the events of Fallen Earth. "Seems like this place has nothing that tells us about that day" I said as I sat down in a old chair which was covered in dust and out of pure frustration I slam my fist on the console bringing back the power allowing me to access some of the files that were stored.

Rachel and I click on the last on in the hope it gave us some information when a man and a woman appear on the screen holding each other. "Hey there if your watching this then our gamble worked and you managed to survive I'm sorry but we have no way of knowing the time when you'll awake or if this world will be rebuilt just know we our happy that you survived" the man says and something about him is familiar but I don't know why. "If the person who survived please look after our son he was the only one we managed to put into cryo sleep but in the chance it's our son just know your mom and dad love you so much" the woman said as the video came to an end

"Those were my parents and now they are gone" I tell myself as I feel myself going back into the dark place when I first found out I was the last human alive but I was soon comforted by Rachel who placed a hand on my shoulder which makes me calm down. "I know it's hard but I'm sure they would want you to move on and not be shackled down by the past" Rachel says as I smile at her.

"Thank you Rachel to be honest I'm just happy I got to see their face even if it was only a moment but right now I'm more happy because I have great friends like Alexa, you and all the others who have been kind to me since I woke up in this world" I tell her as I stand up and look at the cryo pod which I was once inside and walk over to it. "This place is where my previous life ended and where my new life began which is why I will not look back but instead keep moving forward" I say as I look over at Rachel who was smiling at me.

"I'm happy to hear that" Rachel said as I walk over to her and place a hand on her cheek which makes her blush. "Listen Rachel what I'm about to say is crazy but I really like you and I want to be by your side so will you go out with me" I say as I see Rachel go wide eyed at my question.

I expected her to reject me but what she did next made my mind go blank as she clashed our lips together and we both lost ourselves in each others embrace before finally breaking apart to breath. "So is that a yes" I say already knowing the answer but I just anted to hear her say it. "Of course it is you dummy" Rachel said as we start to leave so we could get back before dark however I soon look at the screen and find it's located another lab not to far from here so we both take the walk to it and it was in a much better condition than the one I was in.

"This place was used long before I woke up but the fact it's in this good of condition means someone was living here" I say as we enter and the lights work but once inside we both look round the place and even though it was covered in dust it was still in full working condition but things take a turn once we find a skeleton sitting at the console I move it carefully as to not damage it before turning to the conseole. "Ok lets see what's the deal with this place" I said as I start looking through the files and it all seem the same but I soon see that their were files after the Fallen Earth event so I click on one of them and a woman appear on the screen.

"Who is she?" I asked but she soon answered my question as I see her start setting up her recording. "So to whoever is watching this good work finding this place my name is Yoruichi and I'm the last human" Yoruichi said which made both me and Rachel shocked to hear that there was another human alive in this world but I looked at the dates and shows that she must have died because the last one was in the year 4000 so I clicked on more videos and we both see her get older but we soon see a furry male and it looked like they were in a relationship.

Mystery Man

After I clicked on the last video she was much older but she was holding a small furry baby most likely a hybrid of furry and human so it was possible for humans and furries to have children but something was still not right like what happened to this kid before something caught my eye and I zoom in on the baby. "No way" I said as Rachel looked at the screen to see what my reaction was about and she to was shocked at the discovery that the baby in the video was Rachel and her timeline fits Yoruichi was Rachel's mother.
