His words stump me. I owed him an explanation?! If anything he owed me but now wasn't the time to bring it up. Instead, I focused on where Mads was still in front of me. Still watching me through "For what?" I spit, angry. "What now?"

"For all this." His words are cryptic but the smile seems to speak to something dark suspended between us. "For all of this since it's your fault." what the fuck is he on about? What am I to blame for?

I frown deeper until his eyes come back to mine and a shocked breath leaves me. My train of thought falls apart as some sort of obsessive sickness seems to cloud my mind. Trapping me in a kind of trance where my eyes refused to leave his. Even when I tried to make them move to look at anything else. Try to figure out if I can distract myself from thinking about him being right there but it's a losing battle. The obsessive thoughts spurred on by my slight intoxication came front and centre.

"Are you sure I'm not making you nervous Alcaraz? You seem at a loss for words." Mads smiles wider and an electric current thrums through me from head to toe. Pulsing through my blood and making me feel on edge. "No words? Having an off period?" His grin widens and causes something that feels almost radioactive to replace the butterflies inside, coiling and twisting. Tighter and lower until I feel a little uncomfortable where I'm aware of a now low pulsing ache in my clit from where this encounter was oddly turning me on. And at the worst time ever, great!

His smile widens and to make matters worse he tips his head to the side, studying me a little as if waiting for me to speak. I want to. To tell him he's wrong but my tongue won't obey me. Eyes either where they refuse to leave his. He smiles wider. Knowing he's got me confused from the lack of verbal retort where I'd before been so quick to dismiss his words. Nervousness had no part in it, something else more wild seemed to grip me. Control me.

"Still no words? What happened to all the anger before?" Mads seems to be laughing at me but my tongue's still tied. Stopping me from retorting with some sort of verbal attack. "My, my I think I've stumped you, Alcaraz. No comeback now?"

"No, I still have..." I trail off when his eyes that had moved a fraction from mine slid back and I lose myself in their aquamarine colour which seems to swirl and burn from the muted firelight coming around the corner. "You're cheating,"

He laughs, "Cheating? How? All I did was look at you. That can't be cheating, can it?" He tries to go for feigned ignorance but something in his eyes seems to sparkle with mischief.

"Alborotador," I mumble, seeing how his shoulders shake with silent laughter. "You know exactly what you're doing. Don't try to pretend otherwise, it's an insult to both you and me." As if I care about that, I mutter mentally, annoyed that I hadn't spoken that out loud. "Just let me go, You know what would happen if you're caught with me."

He gives me a look, "So you have someone looking for you, to date you I mean. Or are you taken?"

I twist my head, moving my hair out of my eyes where my bun from work had finally fallen out. "Not your business, yes, back off."

"So do you have a boyfriend Lo? Or am I chasing someone available?" He sounds a little sincere but also a little like he's teasing me.

Trying to ignore how badly this whole encounter is turning me on, I tip my head to the side and laugh softly, satisfied that he's caught off guard by that. "Why do you want to know Reyes?" He doesn't move and I see him take a breath, thrown off by my change in demeanour. "Why? Come on, tell me that at least?" Still nothing and I can see he's trying to figure out how to explain what to say, before something comes to me and I laugh, remembering what he'd said before. "So many questions, why ask that? You want to ask me out on a date?"
