Next Day
The next morning dawns bright but by no means early since despite saying we'd get to sleep in good time I somehow lost a bet to Lo resulting in me having to watch horror movies until the early hours with her cuddled up to me in my arms. Not that I was complaining since having her jump into my arms with fearful squeals is somehow cute as hell.
But we do lose track of time in doing so. This means our aim to go to sleep at a normal time gets shot to hell considering our combined sugar crash after around..... 3 am. I think. Whatever it is we get woken up by a knock on the door the next morning. Earlier than I think either of us wanted given Lo's angry grumbles when she refuses to get up.
Cracking open one eye Lo grumbled again when the knocking continued, angry Spanish expletives mumbled under her breath and she burrowed her head in my neck to avoid the light. Laughing I put my arms around her more with a soft kiss, trying to derail my brain from waking her up another way that whilst I don't doubt she'd enjoy would cross a line we'd drawn. Breaking the rule that she chose. It was her choice. So I didn't. Resolving to wake her another way.
Well, that had been the plan. Up until around forty-five minutes later when it became abundantly clear, I wasn't waking my darling treasure anytime soon. Instead sighing reluctantly and letting go of her, watching how Lo turned into the warm spot I'd just vacated, curled in the fetal position with her arms and legs wrapped around what had been my pillow up until two minutes ago. Face pressed into it as she gave a deep breath and snuggled more into it as if she wished she could be snuggled up with me instead. I sigh, wishing I could be too, but needing to see who was knocking so obnoxiously loud this early.
Speaking of. Again the knocking sounds come through the wood, Lo grumbling and hugging my abandoned pillow more as she settles with a frown. Signing, I pull on a pair of sweatpants and kiss her head once before answering the knocking when Lo grumbled again, angrier than before.
"Coming," I laugh softly as I get to the door and open it to see Hali, Mal, Pey and, at a distance, Riv outside the door. "Morning?" I ask with a confused expression, Mal sniggering at Pey with matching devious expressions that have me groaning with rolled eyes. "Oh no. Oh fuck no you two I know that bloody look. What the hell are you two scheming?"
Mal shrugs with an overly innocent expression. "Nothing, nothing hermano, just checking you and lover girl in there remembered what today is?" she asks, laughing as she shakes a piece of blue and white paper an inch in front of my face.
"Cut it out Lovato," I mumble, snatching the paper from her to read what it says.
