POV: Tony
I wake up at seven thirty to Peter texting me. I don't know when I ended up falling asleep, but the windows outside let in a good amount of sunlight. I open my phone and nearly drop it when I see his text:
Kid
Mr. Stark I accidentally got myself locked in Loki's room and if you would let me out now that would be nice
                                                                                                                                            You
Okay Loki how'd you get the kid's phone
Kid
No Mr. Stark it's really me! here I'll send a pic
*selfie of a sleepy Loki and Peter doing a thumbs up*
                                                                                                                                               You
Oh man kid have you been there all night?
Kid
Well yeah. I slept on the ground but I need my backpack because my homework's in there
                                                                                                                                               You
Give me a second, kid. What were you doing anyways?
Kid
I couldn't get my web shooters off. I didn't know that the door automatically locked
I checked his own room to make sure it was empty, and Loki wasn't using his illusions for some stupid trick. Sure enough, it was. I guess the kid really couldn't keep himself out of trouble. So I unlock Loki's door and walk into the room to see Loki back asleep and Peter holding his phone.
"Thanks, Mr. Stark!" he said, avoiding my gaze as he left to go to his room. Something felt a little off, but I decided I'm just frustrated Peter did the exact opposite of what I wanted him to do.
"Loki?" I asked, knowing he wouldn't care whatever I was saying. I stepped inside, but he just sat up.
"Oh... good morning, Mr. Stark. Wait-" I knew his voice, and it wasn't Loki's.
"I think I'm at a five, young Peter," I heard behind me. I turned to see Peter- or Loki- grinning.
"Loki no-" I said, but he closed the door, and with a click it locked. That-
"Mr. Stark- Oh, crap," Peter said, the illusion lifting. I was going to kill him. I was going to-
"He took my phone," I said. "You wouldn't happen to-"
"I slept in. I'm sorry, Mr. Stark, I promise this won't happen again," Peter said, looking legitimately worried.
"It's not your fault, kid," I said dismissively. "Wait- why did you come in here? Tell me he didn't-"
"I couldn't get my web shooters off. I didn't know the door locked. I'm sorry Mr. Stark, I didn't know-"
"You knew perfectly well I told you to stay away from him. Kid, it's your second day here. You can't trust someone that fast, especially someone who tried to take over the world," I explained. "I shouldn't be saying this to anyone."
"Because it's not true?"
"Because It's common sense!" I snapped. Peter stopped smiling, and I tried to think clearly. "Look, we're stuck here until further notice, and I'm ninety-eight percent sure that Loki's not going to be stopping bank robberies-"
"He only said five. That's the lowest number rounding up-"
"What are you talking about, kid?"
"On a scale of one to ten. I asked him how evil he was last night. I-"
"So. He said a number. Yay," I said, doing little jazz hands. The kid obviously didn't enjoy my humor.
"Mr. Stark, he's probably not-"
"Oh yes he is. Whatever you said he's not doing, I bet you anything he's doing it. I bet you a million dollars."
"I- I don't have a million dollars, Mr. Stark."
I sat down on the bed next to Peter, ignoring Loki's cape on the ground. I knew the kid wouldn't have a million dollars, but I didn't think he'd think he needed to point that out.
"Well, of course. What are you saying he's not doing?" I asked.
"Breaking something?"
"So if anything's broken but the wall-"
"I'm not going to take a million dollars, Mr. Stark..."
"Ten?"
Peter shrugged, which I took as an absolute yes. Except that didn't actually help much right now, so-
"Mr. Stark, don't you have a key or something?" he asked.
"I do. In my phone case," I said. "Which I don't have because it's on my phone which Loki took."
"This is... kind of bad, Mr. Stark..." he said.
"Yeah, it is kind of bad, don't you think?" I said. Peter stopped talking.
"Well, we can wait for someone to unlock the door and then absolutely kill Loki the moment we find him. Or- do you think we could blow up the door? Wait- those are also in my phone case. Dang-"
"Do you keep everything in your phone case?" the kid interrupted. I turned to him without an answer.
"It's convenient. The door's locked, but that doesn't mean it's soundproof-" I said.
"It's like four in the morning," the kid pointed out. "No one's awake, are they?"
"Yeah, you'd think that. Steve!"
"Mr. Rogers?"
"The man wakes up at the crack of dawn, kid. Believe me, if anyone- do illusions include soundproofing?"
"You know, Mr. Stark, for someone who wants me to follow a lot of rules you sure are unprepared," the kid said.
"Look, I'm not surprised that Loki tried something, but how am I supposed to anticipate him stealing my phone?" I pointed out. He shrugged.
"I don't know he's probably not breaking all of New York. I mean, last time he had an army and a glowy cube and this time all he has is... nothing..."
"Oh, whatever, kid. If we're still in here by noon I'm going to have to get him some literal chains so he doesn't try anything."
"I have my web shooters," the kid offered, grabbing them off the desk against the wall. "Can you help me with the formula?"
I watched as he took out the little canister of web fluid and popped it open. I looked back at the door.
"Eh, why not kid. We might be here a while."
