POV: Tony
"Mr. Stark? I get a suit? Am I an Avenger?" Peter asked the moment I pulled up the holograms.
"No, kid- I just- you want to do the superhero thing, right? That's what the webs are for," I said. he nodded. "I'm just going to give you enough so you don't look like a random freshman who doesn't know what he's doing."
"Am I going to go on missions with you? Am I going to fight aliens?" the kid was obviously freaking out. I turned off the holograms for a second.
"Look, kid, you have to act like an adult if I'm going to give you a suit for an adult," I said.
"For an adult? Mr. Stark, it's not going to be like- dangerous," he stopped bouncing on his feet and stared at me. I realized exactly how young he was. Yeah, maybe not an instant kill setting.
"Training Wheels Protocol," I came up with. "It'll be basically a costume with your webs and whatnot."
"Okay. Thanks, Mr. Stark. Am I going to fight aliens? Or HYDRA again? Or drug smugglers?" he said, staring at the designs. I'd sacked the whole armor idea and turned it into more of a skintight stealth-acrobatics suit, of course with tech to keep it easy to put on.
"Probably just the last one, kid," I said, looking at the designs.
"Can you make the spider a drone?" he asked. I looked at it.
"Yeah, actually. Nice idea. You can design it if you want," I said, pulling up another workspace for the kid.
"Woah!" he said, getting to work designing himself a cute little mini-drone with a few cameras and tiny hover-wings.
"You might not be able to use it for a while though," I said. "We can probably add functions slowly over time so you can get used to them. You might also want to work on some new webs-"
"Yeah, I have some new plans in my notebook. It might take a bit more than I have, but-"
"I can get whatever you want, kid. I'm Tony Stark."
"Vibranium?" his voice was more challenging than serious. I shook my head.
"Yeah, maybe not. But most anything."
We both go back to work. I add a compartment for taser-webbing, which I couldn't think of a single situation you wouldn't want it there. Maybe I should add a lot more options...
"Woah..." Peter said, looking at what I was doing. I was on the 25th type of webbing. "That's... a lot of choices, Mr. Stark."
"We'll work them in when you get used to them, kid. Which, there's going to be some ground rules. You have to keep your feet on the ground. No mega-world domination plots, you hear me?  I mean, stopping them obviously. And obviously none for yourself, I can disable your suit," I said. The kid nodded.
"So just like park muggers or something like that?" he asked, reading all the options with interest.
"Yeah. You can be a- friendly neighborhood Spiderman or something. Just don't get into too much trouble, and you better not die, because your cover story's going to be this internship and I don't want to deal with that much paperwork. Also I'd be out an intern," I added. he nodded.
"Got it. Do you like Droney?" I looked at his drone. It actually looked pretty functional, and it was small enough to go unnoticed or at least be hard to shoot with something. Even then, it looked light enough to be able to make a quick escape.
"Nice. You named it?" I asked.
"Yup. He's going to be hard to spot, right? For recon and stuff. Ooooh, that sounds really cool. Am I an actual superhero now?" he said, watching the hologram fly in a loopdeloop.
"If you call yourself that, kid. Just don't go all 'I am Spiderman', okay?" I said, halfway sternly.
"Of course I won't. Aunt May would kill me!" he said, turning back to look at me. I stopped coding in ricochet webs and met his gaze.
"Kid, you should tell her."
"Oh, oh no Mr. Stark I don't think that's going to work. You don't know my Aunt May she keeps telling me to run away from danger and she would totally freak out and that-"
"Kid. Alright? You're working at Avenger's tower. What would she expect?" I interrupted, turning back to the holograms.
"That I'm getting you coffee or something! Not that I'm running around in tights fighting crime!  The suit is actually great by the way, thanks Mr. Stark," he said. I put my forehead in my hand because there was no wall to bang it against.
"Alright, kid. Whether you tell her or not is 100% your decision. But I'm not going to do much to back up your story with her," I finally said.
"Okay. You should add un-sticky webs. Here-" he leaned over and messed up the chemical formula. I pulled up the molecular structure and I have to say, it was impressive.
"Nice, kid. Where'd you learn to do this?"
"Books and junk. YouTube. Am I going to meet Bruce Banner?" he asked.
"Maybe. He's working with Vision, Wanda and Pietro at our other building upstate," I said. "They're from Sokovia. The twins. Vision's... you know what happened, right?"
"Mostly, yeah. Is that Instant Kill Mode?" he added, horrified. I shrugged.
"In the hope that you won't need it. That's going to be the last thing you're allowed to use. And you better not use it often, you hear me? Only if you're fighting a alien army or something."
"I'm not sure I ever want to use that, Mr. Stark."
Huh. Good kid.
"Alright, that's one hour. Let's not use up all three at once, huh?" I said, glancing at the clock. Peter nodded.
"I have social studies homework I should probably get done. Do you think Mr. Rogers can help?" he said, before realizing "Oh wait, he's doing a mission or something. Will I ever get to go on a mission?"
"Probably not until you're older, kid. When you can drive. And are a legal adult. And have completely finished Training Wheels Protocol," I said.
"I'm going to grow up to be an Avenger?" he said, turning to me slowly. I laughed nervously.
"If you happen to be that good of a person and a hero, maybe. I'm making no promises."
"Alright, Mr. Stark. Thank you," he said, before leaving and running up the stairs like any normal high school freshman would do when not leaving a room with me in it.
Yeah, he wasn't going to be an Avenger any time soon.
