POV: Tony
"Hey, kid," I said, looking up as Peter walked into my lab. He was still wearing his spidersuit.
"Hey Mr. Stark," he said, sitting down on a swivel chair. "Can we do Patrol now?"
"What? Patrol?"  I replied, pushing the holograms out of the way.
"The stopping muggers thing. We're going to be just patrolling basically, right?"
"Okay," I said, tweaking my design absentmindedly. "Right now?"
"If that's okay, Mr. Stark," he said. I shrugged.
"Why not? Where do you want to go, kid?"
"I don't know. The park? Do people rob banks?"
"Whatever, kid. Your call." I shrugged, closing the holograms.
"I don't know. Maybe I should just practice using the webs," he said.
"Your call. If you want to add one or two more modes, we could do that too. Whatever-"
"Whatever's convenient, Mr. Stark," he interrupted quickly. "I can just help you with-"
"Nah, kid, you should try out your new suit," I said.
"Oh... Okay, Mr. Stark," he said. "Do you think I should make something to get rid of the webs? I feel like they keep getting everywhere..."
"If you feel like it, kid. It would be helpful, but-"
"Yeah, I probably should," he said, opening some holograms to work on it. So we kept working on our projects for a while, occasionally helping each other or making coffee.
"Your out of work time for today, kid," I said after an hour. "No overtime in internships."
"Okay, Mr. Stark," he said. "That means no Patrol?"
"No Patrol," I responded. "Maybe tomorrow or something."
"Alright. Can me and Wanda and Pietro do board games?" he asked. I sighed.
"Sure, why not."
He stayed there for a moment. I didn't say anything and continued working on my nanotech.
"We... kinda need more players..."
"Okay, kid. You can ask Cap and Bucky, they're probably out of punching bags by now. Nat can play if the twins are, Vision can, Jarvis can-"
"Can you?" he interrupted. I sighed.
"Kid, I really don't think-"
"Please?"
I stopped talking and looked him in the eyes. I could tell he actually cared. And because I guess he was still impressed I was Tony Stark, I found myself saying "Fine".
"Thanks, Mr. Stark," he said sincerely. "I think Pietro's getting real games-"
"That's fine, kid," I said, leaning past him to open the door without getting up. He hugged me somewhat awkwardly and I succeeded not to cringe.
"That wasn't a hug, I was just getting the door for you, kid," I muttered. He nodded, a pink tinge to his cheeks.
"Right. Sorry, Mr. Stark," he said. "I'll go set everything up."
"Sure thing, kid," I said, turning back to my nanotech. I waited until I heard his footsteps fade to turn it off. He was really embracing this Spiderman thing, a little bit too much if I'm being totally honest. He wasn't supposed to, like, die on accident. That would actually kind of suck, seeing as this would be his cover story and there'd be that legal mess along with the fact that I'd be out an intern and he'd be dead and that would be very not good.
[Y'all this sounds out of character I'm sorry it's finals week]
I look at my phone a moment, taking in the old among us meme that Stephen's cloak apparently sent before going upstairs.
Peter's setting up the board for scrabble, Wanda and Pietro are claiming their pieces, Loki is leaning against a wall scribbling furiously in a notebook, and Vision is looking over his shoulder slightly confusedly. Looking at the scene, I remember that April fools is the day after tomorrow  and the kid probably told him. Great.
"So. you're all playing?" I asked slowly.
"I suppose," Loki said, flipping a page. His writing was some sort of Norse runes, unreadable to everyone else in the room. I assume. "Thor's coming. Maybe Natasha?"
"Great," I said, looking at the fully set up gameboard for Sorry. "You know that's only four player?"
"We're doing a tournament. Pietro got a few of them," Wanda said, gesturing to three more identical game boxes.
"I thought it would work better than all different games, so we didn't have to explain the rules for each one," Peter added, opening one up for the other half of the table.
I mentally counted all the people in the room. Me, Underoos, Wanda, Pietro, Vision, and Reindeer Games made six. If Capsicle and Bucky wanted to play, that'd be eight, enough for two boards, and Natasha and Clint would make it complicated. I guess we'd have one full game and two three-player ones. I guess Point Break and Dr. Strange could join, and we'd have three games.
"I'm texting the group chat," I said, opening my phone with my fingerprint now that I can't use the face ID. 'We're all doing a sorry tournament in the living room' I sent, turning it off only for it to notify back on immediately.
Dr. Strange- 'Am I invited again or do you want me to keep researching threats to the planet'
Peter- 'you're invited'
A portal fizzes to life right next to me, making Pietro jump. For some reason Dr. Strange is wearing yellow dishwashing gloves.
"No protecting Earth, alright," he said casually.
"It's almost like anything you'd find at one point wouldn't actually be a threat," I replied, rolling my eyes.
"SHIELD was HYDRA, and you didn't seem to be aware," he pointed out.
"Who are you?" Pietro said, zipping to our side of the table.
"Doctor Stephen Strange, Sorcerer Supreme. You're-?"
"Pietro Maximoff. Quicksilver. This is my sister Wanda," he said.
"Party in here, huh?" Natasha said, walking in dragging Thor behind her. Thor still had 'Loki'd' on his forehead, but a lot fainter. I guessed he'd been trying to wash it off. Next to me, Stephen tried not to show that we were more pathetic than he'd thought.
And right on cue, Clint falls out of the vents.
"Is that everyone?" Stephen says as though he's in pain.
"I'll get Capsicle," I said. I didn't have to go far though, because he turned the corner just as I left the room.
"It's fine, Buck," he was saying to a stressed looking Bucky, who paled when he saw me.
"We're waiting for you," I said, turning around.
"Do I have to?" I heard Bucky ask.
"Peter needs us for the tournament," Steve replied, reminding me why I was doing this in the first place. For the kid.
It's all for the kid.
