POV: Peter
I don't know what happened after Mr. Stark came in but he seemed to have a lot to say to Ms. Romanoff. I didn't pay attention because I was too busy listening to Pietro relay our heroic pranking exploits to Wanda and Vision in dramatic, hushed tones.
"So you didn't miss a single clock," Wanda said, raising an eyebrow.
"Of course not-" he assured her, before noticing she was pointing to the one high up on the wall to the left.
"He left already, anyways," Vision said. "It wasn't very funny for anyone but the secretary."
"How do you- never mind," I said. "Are you all going to be going to school or not?"
"I'm not sure," Wanda said. "Stark didn't give us any details."
"We could do game night again if you're up for it," I said. Pietro shrugged.
"I'm not sure if that's actually allowed or not-"
"You're just scared to lose, you speedy chicken," Wanda said, nudging his shoulder.
"I'll play," Vision suggested.
"I will too," Wanda added quickly, glancing at him for a split second.
"I guess I have to then," Pietro grumbled. I grinned.
"I'm not sure if Mr. Stark will let us do it or not but yay!"
"I can probably run and get actual games. No way are we using holograms," Pietro said.
"You can do that. I'll be practicing like I'm supposed to," Wanda replied, elbowing him. He rolled his eyes.
"Fight me, then!"
They proceeded to spar each other right then and there. It was a pretty impressive battle, but blue and red blurs everywhere made it hard to follow.
"Peter!" Loki said, walking briskly through the open door. "Come help me with- what's he yelling about?"
I looked at Mr. Stark, who was still ranting to Ms. Romanoff.
"I don't know," I said.
"Can I be of assistance?" Vision asked Loki incredulously. Loki gave him a thoughtful look.
"Have you ever committed treason?" he finally asked, completely seriously. Vision shrugged.
"I can't say that I have, but I haven't been in a situation when it's been necessary," he said. Loki nodded.
"Ever done anything close?" he asked, still not a hint of sarcasm or joking in his voice. Vision shrugged.
"I... was supposed to want to destroy everything but I didn't. And don't."
"That's kind of the opposite of what I'm looking for," Loki sighed. "Whatever. You can still help if you want."
We left Wanda and Pietro sparring and Tony and Natasha arguing and left to go to Loki's room. I sat down on the bed, bouncing up and down absentmindedly. Loki took the chair and pulled out a notebook.
"So. Midgardian mischief day," he said, spinning around once. Vision looked around the room, levitating up and down slightly. "You're both going to help me. It will be hilarious. And I don't understand a single thing about your societal standards and don't want to break any more of your laws, so there's that."
"Don't injure anyone or permanently damage anything, and I think you're good," I said.
"You and I both know your society is more complicated than that," Loki muttered. "Usually I wouldn't mind breaking a few rules- I cut off Lady Sif's hair once- but obviously I'm not in the conditions to get off with a little bit of violence."
"I'm fairly certain that we can avoid that quite easily," Vision assured him.
"Maybe we can fill up one of Mr. Stark's iron man suits with plastic zebras," I suggested. "Or-"
"I can hide his coffee," Loki interrupted, scribbling furiously. Then he stopped, looking up. "Is that a line?"
"It shouldn't be. It's not illegal," Vision said.
"Where are we going to get plastic zebras?" I asked.
"We can sticky note random words all over someone's door," Vision suggested.
"I can- you know what, never mind," Loki said, looking between the two of us.
"So we need plastic zebras and sticky notes," I said. He nodded.
"Or just sticky notes. And I guess a place to hide all Tony's coffee. And you all need tricks of your own," he said. Vision shrugged.
"I don't-"
"There's only one Midgardian holiday remotely celebrating me and I will be personally offended if you-or anyone- chooses to ignore it. Anyways, I doubt anyone will." Loki said overconfidently. I decide not to mention that I was only doing it this year because last year MJ pulled a great one and I decided she needed competition. After all, pranking the Avengers is going to be bigger than getting the teacher's search history on the board. Definitely.
Maybe?
"Question," I said, "What happens if HYDRA happens? Again?"
"Why are you so concerned? They broke two cars and then committed suicide. Hardly a concern," Loki said dismissively.
"Okay," I shrugged. I didn't know why I'd been so nervous. It was only a few acrobats breaking cars for no reason. From HYDRA, which recently tried to kill a pretty large percentage of the world's population, so yeah, I guess I see why I was concerned. Not even Loki had wanted to kill anyone, really.
"Anyway, you're going to have to find yourself some plastic zebras," he said, writing more in his notebook. I glanced at the scrawling to see Asgardian runes I couldn't read. I should probably be really careful about everything tomorrow. Of course I thought I should tell Loki about April Fools day. I guess Spider Sense didn't give me common sense.
"I suppose Mrs. Romanoff will be wondering where I am," Vision said. Loki nodded for him to leave, and he like, walked through the wall off to wherever he was going. I didn't say anything for a moment, noting how Loki was leaving blocks of space.
"Do you have somewhere to be, Spiderling?" he said finally, not unkindly, but I could tell he kind of wanted me gone.
"Not really," I answered honestly. "Should I lea-"
"Yes, actually," he said, giving me a big fake smile for taking the hint. I shrugged and left. The door locked behind me with a click.
